It’s that time of year again! The NHL playoffs are just around the corner, and we can’t wait to see who comes out on top this year. But before the action starts, we wanted to take a moment to answer a common question: when do the playoffs start?

2) The second round features matchup between the remaining division winners and features home-ice advantage going to the team with the better regular season record.
3) The Conference Finals matches up the winners of each divisional series and has home-ice advantage going to whichever team had more points in the regular season standings.
4) Lastly, the Stanley Cup Final is a best-of-seven series between Eastern and Western Conference champions to decide who will be crowned Stanley Cup champion for that year. Home ice still belongs to whichever team had more points during regular season play.
