9th – Military Appreciation Night – All military personnel and their families will receive free admission to the game.

16th – Father’s Day Catch on the Field – Dads and their kids can play catch on the field before the game.

July

14th – Bark in the Park – Bring your dog to the game and sit in the special “Dog Zone” section. All proceeds from ticket sales will go to local animal shelters.

Hops Players to Watch This Season

The Hillsboro Hops are a Minor League Baseball team in the Northwest League. The Hops are the Class A Short Season affiliate of the Arizona Diamondbacks. They are located in Hillsboro, Oregon, and play their home games at Ron Tonkin Field

The Hops were founded in 2013, when the Yakima Bears relocated to Hillsboro. The team won its first League Championship in 2015.

Ron Tonkin Field is located at 4460 NE Century Blvd, Hillsboro, Oregon 97124. The stadium seats 4,500 fans.

Hops Coaching Staff for the Upcoming Season

The Hops coaching staff for the upcoming season has been announced. Head Coach Matt Johnson will return for his fourth season, joined by assistant coaches Steve Kroll and Brian Buchanan. The three have been with the organization since its inception in 2013 and have helped lead the team to success on and off the field.

Pitching coach Doug Banks will also return for his fourth season with the Hops. He will be joined by new hitting coach Mitch Jones, who comes to the organization from the Colorado Rockies organization.

Hops Ballpark Improvements for the Upcoming Season

Work on the Hops Ballpark Improvements project is nearing completion and the Hops are gearing up for an exciting season of baseball. The improvements include a new scoreboard, expanded concourse, and increased seating.

The Hops will begin their season at home on Thursday, April 4th against the Salem-Keizer Volcanoes with the first pitch being thrown at 7:05pm.

The Hops and the City of Hillsboro

The Hops are a minor league baseball team located in Hillsboro, Oregon. They are members of the Northwest League and play their home games at Ron Tonkin Field. The Hops were founded in 2013 and have been affiliated with the Arizona Diamondbacks since their inception.

The team’s name was chosen through a community-wide naming contest; other finalists included the Chinooks, Timberjacks, Sharpshooters, and Knights. The Hops nickname was reportedly inspired by the city’s history of hop production. Hillsboro is located in the heart of Oregon’s Willamette Valley, which is known for its hops production.

The Hops’ logo features a green hop plant with a baseball in the center. The team’s colors are green, gold, and white.

The Hops finished their inaugural season with a record of 46-28, winning the Northwest League’s North Division championship. In 2014, they won the League Championship after defeating the Tri-City Dust Devils in the playoffs.
