Christian McCaffrey was born in Castle Rock, Colorado, to Lisa and Ed McCaffrey. He is of white ethnicity and has three brothers, Max, Dylan, and Luke. His father played football for the University of Delaware before being drafted by the New York Giants in the third round of the 1991 NFL Draft. He then enjoyed a 13-year career in the NFL as a wide receiver, winning Super Bowl XXXI with the Denver Broncos. McCaffrey attended Stanford University, where he played college football for the Stanford Cardinals from 2014 to 2016.
