On December 16, 2015, he was named the STATS FCS Offensive Player of the Year. On January 9, 2016, Kupp was named to the 2015 AP FCS All-America team. He was also named a first team All-American by the AFCA and a second team All-American by The Sports Network.
2016 FCS season
In his senior season in 2016, Kupp caught 117 passes for 1,700 yards and 17 touchdowns. He was a consensus first-team All-American and was awarded the Stats FCS Walter Payton Award as the most outstanding player in the Football Championship Subdivision. Kupp finished his college career with 428 receptions for 6,464 yards (15.2 ypr) and 73 touchdowns, which were all FCS records at the time of his graduation. He also had a career average of 15.2 yards per punt return and scored four times on punt returns.
