As a rookie, Jones started all 16 games and led all NFL rookies with 959 receiving yards on 54 receptions, with eight touchdown receptions. Julio’s 54 receptions were also second among all rookies, behind only A.J. Green’s 65. His nine touchdown receptions were tied for second most among all rookies that season, behind only Doug Baldwin’s eight. High School Career

Julio Jones played football for Foley High School. During his high school career, he had 2,036 receiving yards and 24 touchdowns. As a senior, he was named a First-team All-American by Parade and USA Today. He was also named the Atlanta Journal-Constitution’s all-state wide receiver and the Gatorade Player of the Year for the state of Alabama.

Foley High School

Julio Jones attended Foley High School in Foley, Alabama, where he played football, basketball, and ran track. As a junior, he helped lead his team to the state championship game. As a senior, he caught 54 passes for 1,303 yards and 23 touchdowns and was named a Parade All-American. He was also named first-team all-state by the Alabama Sports Writers Association. During his career at Foley High School, Jones had 176 receptions for 3,197 yards and 36 touchdowns.

Alabama Class 6A State Champion

The first state championship in Julio Jones’ high school career came as a junior in 2007, when he helped Foley High School to a 13-2 record and the Alabama Class 6A state title. Jones was a key player on both sides of the ball for the Lions, catching 49 passes for 743 yards and 10 touchdowns on offense while also adding four interceptions and 60 tackles on defense.
