He played college football for the University of Colorado, and earned consensus All-American honors. The Packers drafted him in the sixth round of the 2007 NFL Draft, and he was a member of their Super Bowl XLV championship team against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Crosby attended Georgetown Preparatory School in North Bethesda, Maryland, where he played football and golf. As a senior placekicker and punter, he helped lead his team to an undefeated 10–0 regular season record and the IAC conference championship. That season, he had 55 touchbacks on kickoffs and converted 9 out of 10 field goals with a long of 52 yards. He also punted 19 times for a 34.3 yard average with a long punt of 54 yards. Crosby was also named first-team all-Conference as both a placekicker and punter.

Super Bowl XLV
On February 6, 2011, Crosby was a member of the Packers team that won Super Bowl XLV, defeating the Pittsburgh Steelers 31–25. Crosby kicked the game-winning field goal with 8:56 left in the fourth quarter. The field goal traveled 41 yards and was the Packers’ only lead of the game. He also kicked four other field goals in the game (23, 19, 29, and 32 yards), becoming the first kicker in Super Bowl history to kick four field goals in a single Super Bowl, and tying Efren Herrera’s Super Bowl record for most successful field goals. Crosby’s five successful kicks tied him with Jeff Reed for second place for most successful kicks in a Super Bowl, behind only Adam Vinatieri’s six successful kicks.
