NBA Youngboy’s Legal History

NBA Youngboy, born as Kentrell DeSean Gaulden, is an American rapper, singer, and songwriter. He is best known for his songs “Outside Today”, “AI Youngboy”, and “Untouchable”. NBA Youngboy has been in and out of jail since he was a teenager.

NBA Youngboy’s first arrest

In October 2016, NBA Youngboy was arrested on multiple charges, including attempted first-degree murder, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. The charges stemmed from a shooting that took place outside of a Miami hotel in March 2016. Youngboy pleaded guilty to aggravated assault with a firearm and was sentenced to 10 years in prison, with credit for time served. He was released on parole in May 2018.

In November 2018, NBA Youngboy was arrested again on charges of kidnapping and assault. The charges stemmed from an incident in which he allegedly assaulted his girlfriend and held her against her will. He pleaded guilty to one count of aggravated assault and was sentenced to two years in prison, with credit for time served. He was released on parole in January 2019.

In February 2019, NBA Youngboy was arrested yet again on charges of felony gun possession and drug possession. The charges stemmed from a traffic stop in Tallahassee, Florida. He pleaded guilty to one count of felony gun possession and was sentenced to three years in prison, with credit for time served. He was released on parole in September 2019.

As of October 2019, NBA Youngboy has been arrested seven times and has spent a total of about two years in prison.

NBA Youngboy’s second arrest

NBA Youngboy, born Kentrell Gaulden, was arrested in Waycross, Georgia on February 5, 2017 on two charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and one charge of criminal attempt to commit murder. The charges stemmed from a shooting that took place outside of a local convenience store in February 2016.

On June 6, 2017, NBA Youngboy pleaded guilty to two counts of aggravated assault and was sentenced to 10 years in prison with 8 years suspended, meaning he would only serve 2 years behind bars.

NBA Youngboy, who was already on probation for a prior attempted first-degree murder charge, faced up to 40 years in prison if convicted.

In March 2018, NBA Youngboy was released from prison after serving nine months of his 10-year sentence. He was placed on house arrest and ordered to wear an ankle monitor.

In May 2018, NBA Youngboy violated the terms of his house arrest and was sent back to jail. He was released again in July 2018 and placed on probation.

In July of 2016, he pleaded not guilty to the charges and was released on $100,000 bail. However, he was arrested again in October of 2016 on drug and gun charges. This time, he was released on $75,000 bail.

In March of 2017, NBA Youngboy violated the terms of his release by getting into a fight with another inmate while he was still in jail. As a result, his bail was revoked and he remained in jail until his trial in May of 2017.

In May of 2017, NBA Youngboy was sentenced to 10 years in prison but given credit for time served. He was also sentenced to 5 years probation.

The sentence meant that NBA Youngboy would not have to serve any more time in jail, as long as he met the conditions of his probation, which included not getting arrested again.

Unfortunately, NBA Youngboy was arrested again in May 2018 on charges of aggravated assault with a firearm and kidnapping. This led to his probation being revoked, and he was sentenced to serve out the remainder of his 10-year sentence.

NBA Youngboy was released from jail in March 2020 after serving two years of his sentence.
