Giannis Antetokounmpo
Giannis Antetokounmpo was born in Greece to Nigerian immigrant parents who had seven children. All five of the Antetokounmpo brothers played basketball and football while growing up. Giannis started playing professional basketball at age 18 for the Greek club Filathlitikos. He was named the Greek League Rising Star and helped his team win the Greek Cup in 2013. In April 2013, he declared himself eligible for the NBA draft, and he was selected 15th overall by the Milwaukee Bucks.
Antetokounmpo became the Bucks’ starting small forward midway through his rookie season and went on to be named to the NBA All-Rookie Second Team. In his second season, he was selected for his first NBA All-Star Game. He has continued to improve in each of his subsequent seasons, becoming one of the NBA’s most well-rounded players. In 2020, he was named MVP of the regular season and Defensive Player of the Year. He is one of only four players in NBA history to win both awards in the same season.
Kostas Antetokounmpo
Kostas Antetokounmpo is a professional basketball player who plays for the Dallas Mavericks of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He is the younger brother of Giannis Antetokounmpo, who plays for the Milwaukee Bucks.
Other Antetokounmpo Brothers
Kostas and Alexis Antetokounmpo are the only other brothers of Giannis Antetokounmpo in the NBA. They both play for the Milwaukee Bucks.
Thanasis Antetokounmpo
Thanasis Antetokounmpo (Greek: Θανάσης Αντετοκούνμπο; born July 18, 1992) is a Greek professional basketball player for the Milwaukee Bucks of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He played college basketball for the Dayton Flyers. Standing at 6 ft 6 in (1.98 m), he plays the small forward and shooting guard positions.
He is the older brother of Nikola and Achilleas, who all were born and raised in Greece, and of Giannis, who was born in Greece but raised in the United States. All four of the Antetokounmpo brothers have played professional basketball.
Alex Antetokounmpo
Alex Antetokounmpo (born October 20, 1997) is a Greek professional basketball player for the Wisconsin Herd of the NBA G League, on assignment from the Milwaukee Bucks of the NBA. He plays primarily at the small forward and power forward positions. He is the younger brother of Giannis Antetokounmpo.
In July 2018, Antetokounmpo was signed by the Milwaukee Bucks, who assigned him to their NBA G League affiliate, the Wisconsin Herd. On January 10, 2019, he had a career-high 25 points in a 115–109 win over the Erie BayHawks.
