LiAngelo Ball (born November 24, 1998) is an American professional basketball player for the Illawarra Hawks of the National Basketball League (NBN). He played college basketball for one season with the UCLA Bruins. Ball was born in Anaheim, California, to LaVar and Tina Ball. He has two older brothers, Lonzo and LaMelo, and a younger sister, Denise. Ball attended Chino Hills High School in his hometown of Chino Hills, California. As a senior in 2016–17, he averaged 19.4 points, 6.0 rebounds and 3.5 assists per game as he helped lead Chino Hills to a 35–0 record and the state championship.

All three Ball brothers have declared for the NBA draft, with Lonzo expected to be a lottery pick,LiAngelo not likely to be drafted at all and LaMelo still a ways away from being draft eligible. So how many Ball brothers will ultimately end up in the NBA?

As of right now, it looks like Lonzo will be the only one of the three brothers to make it to the NBA. LiAngelo is not expected to be drafted, and LaMelo is still a few years away from being draft eligible. However, anything can happen between now and when the draft rolls around, so we’ll have to wait and see what happens.

He played college basketball for one season with the UCLA Bruins. Ball was born in Anaheim, California, to LaVar and Tina Ball. He has two older brothers, Lonzo and LaMelo, and a younger sister, Jaden. All three brothers were highly touted recruits and were ranked among the top 30 high school players in the nation while they were playing together at Chino Hills High School from 2013 to 2017. Lonzo played college basketball for one season with UCLA before being drafted second overall by the Los Angeles Lakers in the 2017 NBA draft. LaMelo later committed to playing for UCLA, but then withdrew from college to sign with agent Harrison Gaines in order to prepare for the 2020 NBA draft.

In high school, Ball was a three-time first-team all-conference selection in the Baseline League. As a senior in 2016–17, he averaged 27.4 points per game, 8.7 rebounds per game and 6 assists per game, leading his team to a 35–1 record and a state championship. That year he was named a McDonald’s All-American, as well as co-MVP of the team alongside Tyler Davis (Texas A&M) and Trevon Duval (Duke). He was also named a first-team all-american by MaxPreps.

Ball committed to playing college basketball for UCLA on August 31, 2016. On June 7, 2017, Ball participated in pre-draft workouts with both the Los Angeles Lakers and New Orleans Pelicans ahead of the 2017 NBA draft After working out for six teams in total prior to the draft he was not selected despite being projected as high as a possible second round pick by ESPN analyst Jeff Goodman prior to his workout process starting.”

LaMelo Ball is an American professional basketball player for the Charlotte Hornets of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He was drafted 3rd overall by the Hornets in the 2020 NBA draft. He played college basketball for one season with the Spire Institute in Geneva, Ohio, along with his older brother LiAngelo.
