82 Regular Season Games
The National Basketball Association (NBA) is the preeminent men’s professional basketball league in North America, and is widely considered to be the premier men’s professional basketball league in the world. It has 30 franchised member clubs (29 in the United States and 1 in Canada), and is an active member of USA Basketball (USAB).
The NBA was founded in New York City on June 6, 1946, as the Basketball Association of America (BAA). The league adopted the name National Basketball Association on August 3, 1949, after merging with the competing National Basketball League (NBL). The league’s several international as well as individual team offices are directed out of its headquarter offices loacated in the Olympic Tower at 645 Fifth Avenue in Midtown Manhattan.
The NBA consists of thirty franchised member clubs, of which twenty-nine are located in the United States and one in Canada.
Pre-Season Games
The NBA preseason is the exhibition season prior to the start of the regular season. During the preseason, NBA teams play several warm-up games against each other and sometimes against players from other leagues. These games give coaches an opportunity to evaluate their players’ performance and give the players a chance to gel as a team.
The number of preseason games varies from year to year, but each team typically plays between four and eight games.
NBA All-Star Game
The National Basketball Association All-Star Game is an annual exhibition basketball game played between the Eastern Conference and the Western Conference All-Stars, which consists of players from both conferences who are voted on by fans, media, and coaches. The game is normally played on the last Sunday in February and is widely considered one of the premier sporting events of the year.
NBA Playoffs
The NBA Finals are the championship series of the National Basketball Association (NBA). The Eastern and Western conference champions play a best-of-seven game series to determine the league champion. The winning team of the series receives the Larry O’Brien Championship Trophy.
