October is the month for the playoffs
In baseball, the playoffs are a series of elimination tournaments to determine the two teams that will play in the World Series, the championships of Major League Baseball (MLB). MLB is divided into two leagues, the American League (AL) and the National League (NL). Each league has three divisions: East, Central, and West. At the end of the regular season (which generally consists of 162 games per team), the team with the best record in each division goes on to play in October in one of two rounds of playoffs. The first round is called the Wild Card Game, and it pits the two teams with the best records that did not win their division against each other. The winner of that game then goes on to play one of the division winners in a five-game series called the Division Series. The winners of each Division Series then advance to play each other in a seven-game series called the Championship Series. And finally, the winner of each Championship Series advances to play in baseball’s biggest event: The World Series!
The World Series is the last event
The Major League Baseball season is nearly over. teams have already clinched their spot in the playoffs, and the final four teams fighting for the last two spots will be determined in the next few days. That leaves just the World Series left to be played.
The World Series is in October as well
The World Series is the last event of the Major League Baseball (MLB) season. It is a best-of-seven playoff between the winners of the American League Championship Series (ALCS) and the National League Championship Series (NLCS). The AL winner plays the NL winner in a best-of-seven game series. The World Series began in 1903, when the Boston Americans (now the Red Sox) defeated the Pittsburgh Pirates in a best-of-nine series, five games to three.
