The NHL has two teams in Florida, the Tampa Bay Lightning and the Florida Panthers.
NHL Teams in Florida
The NHL is made up of 31 teams, and as of the 2019-20 season there are three teams located in the state of Florida. The Tampa Bay Lightning are in the Eastern Conference and play their home games at Amalie Arena. The Florida Panthers are also in the Eastern Conference and play their home games at the BB&T Center. The Western Conference’s Tampa Bay Lightning play their home games at the Amalie Arena.

The Tampa Bay Lightning are a professional ice hockey team based in Tampa, Florida. They compete in the National Hockey League (NHL) as a member of the Atlantic Division of the Eastern Conference. The Lightning have one Stanley Cup championship in their history, in 2003–04. The team is often referred to as the Bolts, and the nickname was used on the former third jerseys. The Lightning plays home games in Amalie Arena in downtown Tampa.
Florida Panthers
The Florida Panthers are a professional ice hockey team based in the Miami metropolitan area. They are members of the Atlantic Division of the Eastern Conference of the National Hockey League (NHL). The team’s local broadcasting rights are held by Fox Sports Florida.

The Tampa Bay Lightning are a professional ice hockey team based in Tampa, Florida. They compete in the National Hockey League (NHL) as a member of the Central Division of the Eastern Conference. The Lightning have one Stanley Cup championship in their history, in 2004. The team is often referred to as the Bolts, and the nickname was officially adopted by the team in 2011.
The Lightning were founded by Phil Esposito and his brother Tony, among others, in 1992 as an expansion franchise and played their home games at the Orlando Arena (now Amway Center) until 1996, when they moved to Tampa. The team has made one appearance in the Stanley Cup Finals (in 2004), winning in seven games over the Calgary Flames.
