With the NBA regular season coming to an end, we take a look at how many teams are still in the running for the playoffs.
Eastern Conference
There are two teams left in the Eastern Conference of the NBA playoffs. The teams are the Milwaukee Bucks and the Toronto Raptors. The Bucks are the top seed in the conference, while the Raptors are the second seed.
Boston Celtics
The Boston Celtics are an American professional basketball team based in Boston, Massachusetts. The Celtics compete in the National Basketball Association (NBA) as a member of the league’s Eastern Conference Atlantic Division. Founded in 1946 as one of the league’s original eight teams, the team play their home games at TD Garden, which they share with the National Hockey League (NHL)’s Boston Bruins. The Celtics are one of the most successful teams in NBA history; they have won the most championships of any NBA franchise with 17, accounting for 24.6 percent of all NBA championships since the league’s founding.
Toronto Raptors
The Toronto Raptors are a Canadian professional basketball team based in Toronto. The Raptors compete in the National Basketball Association (NBA) as a member of the league’s Eastern Conference Atlantic Division. They play their home games at the Scotiabank Arena, which they share with the National Hockey League’s Toronto Maple Leafs. The team was established in 1995, along with the Vancouver Grizzlies, as part of the NBA’s expansion into Canada.
The Raptors qualified for the playoffs in their inaugural season, and have since appeared in fourteen NBA post-seasons, winning five Atlantic Division championships. They reached the Eastern Conference Finals for the first time in 2019. They also won their first NBA title after defeating the Golden State Warriors in six games during the 2019 NBA Finals.
Philadelphia 76ers
The Philadelphia 76ers are an American professional basketball team based in the Philadelphia metropolitan area. The 76ers compete in the National Basketball Association (NBA) as a member of the league’s Eastern Conference Atlantic Division and play at the Wells Fargo Center. Originally known as the Syracuse Nationals, they are one of the oldest franchises in the NBA, and one of only eight (out of 23) to survive the league’s first decade.
Cleveland Cavaliers
The Cleveland Cavaliers are a professional basketball team based in Cleveland, Ohio. They are the Eastern Conference champions, and they will be playing in the NBA Finals.
Western Conference
Out of the fifteen teams in the Western Conference, only eight have advanced to the NBA Playoffs. The teams that have made it to the playoffs are: the Los Angeles Lakers, the Los Angeles Clippers, the Denver Nuggets, the Utah Jazz, the Oklahoma City Thunder, the Houston Rockets, the Dallas Mavericks, and the Memphis Grizzlies.
Houston Rockets
The Houston Rockets are a professional basketball team based in Houston, Texas. The Rockets compete in the National Basketball Association (NBA) as a member of the league’s Western Conference Southwest Division. The team plays its home games at the Toyota Center, located in downtown Houston. The Rockets have won two NBA championships and four Western Conference titles. The team was established as the San Diego Rockets, an expansion team originally based in San Diego, in 1967. In 1971, the Rockets relocated to Houston.
Golden State Warriors
The Golden State Warriors are an American professional basketball team based in Oakland, California. The Warriors compete in the National Basketball Association (NBA) as a member of the league’s Western Conference Pacific Division. The Warriors have won five NBA championships since 1947, tied with the blocakbust Milwaukee Bucks for the most by teams not in the original NBA. golden state has appeared in a record 10 NBA Finals, winning six of them.
Portland Trail Blazers
The Portland Trail Blazers are a professional basketball team based in Portland, Oregon. The Trail Blazers compete in the National Basketball Association (NBA) as a member of the league’s Western Conference Northwest Division. The franchise was founded in 1970, and played its home games in the Memorial Coliseum before moving to Moda Center in 1995 (known as the Rose Garden until 2013). The team has advanced to the NBA Finals three times, winning the NBA championship once in 1977. Their other NBA Finals appearances were in 1990 and 1992.
New Orleans Pelicans
The New Orleans Pelicans are a professional basketball team based in New Orleans, Louisiana. The Pelicans compete in the National Basketball Association (NBA) as a member of the league’s Western Conference Southwest Division. The team plays their home games in the Smoothie King Center.
Finals Matchup
As the NBA Playoffs come to an end, only two teams remain. The Golden State Warriors and the Cleveland Cavaliers. These two teams have met in the Finals for the past four years, with the Warriors winning three times. This year, the Cavaliers are looking to finally take down the Warriors and claim the title.

The Boston Celtics and Houston Rockets are facing off in the finals matchup of the NBA playoffs. As of now, the Celtics are leading the series 2-0.
Toronto Raptors vs. Golden State Warriors
The Golden State Warriors will travel to Toronto to take on the Raptors in what is sure to be an electric NBA Finals matchup. These two teams come into the series with a lot of history, and there is no love lost between them. The Raptors have never won an NBA title, and the Warriors are looking to cement their legacy as one of the greatest teams of all time.
