The family briefly moved to Toronto, Ontario when Dell signed with the Raptors in 1999 after he was acquired in a trade with the Milwaukee Bucks. In Charlotte, he attended Charlottetowne Avenue Elementary School and Wardlaw-Hartridge School, where he played on AAU teams alongside future North Carolina teammate Tyler Hansbrough and future Villanova teammate Corey Stokes.[11][12] As a teenager, Curry played for the Charlotte Amateur Athletic Union’s Junior Hornets.
