How much money does the NFL make from ticket sales? This is a question that many people have asked and we have the answer!
How much money does the NFL make from ticket sales?
The National Football League (NFL) raked in a record $13 billion in revenue last year, and a big chunk of that came from ticket sales. In fact, the NFL made $1.32 billion from ticket sales alone in 2017, which is the most the league has ever made from ticket sales in a single year.
What’s even more impressive is that the NFL was able to generate this much revenue despite having eight fewer games than usual due to the ongoing challenge of finding quality stadiums to play in. The league has been plagued by a number of high-profile stadium problems in recent years, including the now-infamous situation with the Los Angeles Rams’ home stadium, which was originally built for two different teams and has since been dubbed “a dumpster fire.”
Despite these challenges, the NFL has still found a way to make a lot of money from ticket sales. And that’s likely to continue in 2018, as the league has already sold out all of its tickets for this year’s Super Bowl.
How does the NFL use this money?
The NFL does not keep all of the revenue that it generates from ticket sales. A portion of the money is given to the away team, as stipulated in the NFL’s away-gate policy. The home team gets to keep the rest of the money. In addition to ticket revenue, the NFL also generates revenue from concessions, parking, and other game-day sources.
What are the benefits of attending an NFL game?
The NFL is the most popular sport in the United States, so it’s no surprise that tickets to NFL games are in high demand. But how much money does the NFL make from ticket sales?
A recent study by Business Insider found that the average Ticket price for an NFL game is $93.43. That means that the average NFL team generates $30 million in revenue from ticket sales alone.
But ticket prices are just one part of the equation. The NFL also generates a significant amount of revenue from TV contracts, merchandising, and sponsorship deals. In total, the league is estimated to generate about $9 billion in annual revenue.
