In this blog post, we will show you how to draw some of the most popular NFL players.
Sketch the outline of the figure with a light pencil so that you can erase it later if necessary
Start by sketching the outline of the figure with a light pencil so that you can erase it later if necessary. Next, draw the torso and pelvis by drawing two overlapping oval shapes. Then, add the legs and arms by drawing lines extending from the torso. Finally, sketch in the details of the face and uniform. When you’re finished, erase any pencil lines that you don’t want to keep.
Draw the head and neck, making sure to get the proportions right
Start by drawing a small oval for the head and a larger oval for the neck. The bottom of the neck oval should line up with the top of the head oval. Draw a line down the center of the head and neck to help you place the features later on.
Next, sketch in two small circles for the eyes, making sure they are evenly spaced on either side of the center line. Just below each eye, draw a curved line for the eyebrow.
Now draw a curved line from the center of each eyebrow, down past the eye, and around to meet at the bottom of the neck oval. This will be the beginning of your player’s helmet.
Starting at the top of each eyebrow, draw a curved line that goes around and behind the ear, then down to meet at the bottom of your neck oval. This will be your player’s facemask.
Draw the torso, again making sure the proportions are correct
Now that you have the basic shape of the torso, it’s time to start fleshing it out. To do this, you will need to draw a few lines that will help you map out the muscle groups.
First, draw a line down the center of the torso. This line will help you ensure that both sides of the torso are symmetrical.
Next, draw a line across the chest, just below the collarbone. This line will help you place the shoulders correctly.
Then, draw a line across the stomach, just below the belly button. This line will help you place the abs correctly.
Finally, draw a line down the center of each leg. These lines will help you ensure that both sides of the legs are symmetrical.
Draw the arms and legs, again paying attention to proportions
Now that you have the basic shapes of the head, torso, and legs in place, it’s time to start adding details. For the limbs, start by drawing two lines for each arm and leg, coming out from the shoulders and hips. These will be the bones of the arms and legs. Then, add two more lines on top of these for the muscles. Next, add two more lines on top of these for the tendons. Finally, add two more lines on top of these for the skin. Remember to keep the proportions in mind as you’re drawing!
Add details like facial features, clothing, etc.
Once you have the basic outline of your NFL player’s body, it’s time to start adding in the details. For facial features, start with the eyes, then add the nose and mouth. For clothing, start with the jersey, then add the pants and cleats. You can also add other details like helmet logos and tattoos.
Erase any pencil lines that you don’t want to be permanent
If you want to make your drawing look more clean, erase any unwanted pencil lines. You can use an eraser or you can try tracing over your drawing with a pen or marker to cover up the pencil lines.
Ink the drawing with a black pen or marker
Use a black pen or marker to ink the drawing. Start with the outlines of the players and then fill in the details. Be sure to use a light touch so that the ink does not bleed through the paper.
Color the drawing, using either traditional media or digital painting software
Players can be any color, so use your imagination. You can also add effects like highlights and shadows to give the drawing more dimension.
