How to Dry Tennis Shoes In the Dryer
Contents
Is it okay to put your shoes in the dryer? We’re here to give you the answer and show you how to dry your tennis shoes in the dryer the right way!
Place shoes in the dryer
If your shoes are still wet after being out in the rain or after a washing machine cycle, you can dry them in the dryer. Be sure to remove any laces or other removable parts before you place your shoes in the dryer. Set the dryer to a low heat setting and place your shoes inside. You may want to put a clean towel in with your shoes to help them absorb moisture and prevent them from bouncing around too much. Let the shoes dry for about 30 minutes, then check on them to see if they are dry. If they are not, you can let them continue drying for another 10-15 minutes.
Set the dryer to a low or delicate setting
If your shoes are still a little bit wet, put them in the dryer on a low or delicate setting. This will help to speed up the drying process without ruining your shoes. If your shoes are only slightly wet, you can put them on a higher setting, but be sure to check on them frequently to make sure they don’t get too hot.
Add a clean, dry towel to the dryer
If your shoes are still dripping wet, add a clean, dry towel to the dryer. This will help to absorb some of the moisture from your shoes and speed up the drying process.
Check on shoes periodically
If you’re using a regular clothes dryer, check on your shoes periodically to make sure they’re not getting too hot. Open the dryer door and feel the outside of the shoes. If they’re too hot to comfortably keep your hand on, remove them from the dryer and let them cool down for a bit before putting them back in.
Remove shoes and laces when dry
After your shoes have been in the dryer on the air-only setting for about 30 minutes, remove them and check to see if they are dry. The tennis shoes should feel warm, but not too hot to the touch. If they feel even slightly damp, put them back in the dryer for another 10-15 minutes.
Once they are completely dry, remove the shoes and laces from the dryer and set them aside. If your shoes have removable insoles, take them out as well. Letting the insoles dry separately will help reduce the overall drying time.
