How To Hang A Baseball Bat Display Case?

You’ve just bought a new baseball bat display case and you’re ready to show it off. Here’s how to hang it so it looks great and stays put.

Hang the case by the hooks on the back using picture-hanging wire.

1. Lay the baseball bat display case down on a flat surface so the back is facing up.
2. Place two small nails or screw-in hooks into the wall at the desired height, making sure they are level with each other.
3. Cut a piece of picture-hanging wire that is twice the distance between the nails or hooks.
4. Thread one end of the wire through the left hook on the back of the case and then make a loop around the nail or screw on the wall.
5. Repeat step 4 on the right side.
6. Hang the case by the hooks on the back using picture-hanging wire.

Center the case on the wall at the desired height and make a pencil mark on the wall at the top of each hook.

Align the case on the wall so that it is level and plumb. Use a level to make sure the case is level side to side, and use a plumb line or a Carpenter’s square to make sure the case is plumb top to bottom. If it isn’t level or plumb, shim it with strips of wood until it is. Make sure that the case is centered on the wall at the desired height.

Remove the case from the wall and drill pilot holes at the marks.

Use a stud finder to mark the location of the wall studs. Drill pilot holes at the marks. Replace the case on the wall and drive 2-inch screws through the back of the case into the studs. Hang the bats on their hooks and re-install any glass or Plexiglas panels.

Screw in wall anchors.

Screw in wall anchors. Wall anchors help to keep the case level and prevent it from tipping over. A wide variety of anchors are available, so be sure to choose the right type for your particular wall. Once the wall anchors are in place, screw in the provided screws. Make sure that the screws are tight so that the case will be secure.

Hang the case back on the wall and screw the hooks into the anchors.

Now that you have the perfect spot for your case, it’s time to put it back on the wall. This part is pretty easy, but you will need someone to help you. Have your helper hold the case while you screw the hooks into the wall anchors. Make sure that the case is level before you tighten all of the screws.
