How to Make Tennis Ball Cake Pops

Introduction

You will need the following ingredients to make Tennis Ball Cake Pops:
1 cake mix (enough to make a 9×13 inch cake), any flavor
1 tub of frosting, any flavor
1 package of candy melts, any color
1 bag of mini marshmallows
Lollipop sticks
Styrofoam block

What You Will Need

-1 (18.25 ounce) package yellow cake mix
-1 (3.4 ounce) package instant vanilla pudding mix
-1/2 cup vegetable oil
-4 eggs
-1 cup water
-yellow food coloring

For the Cake Pops:
-1 (10 ounce) package green candy melts
-36 lollipop sticks
-1 (16 ounce) can vanilla frosting
-green sprinkles

You will also need: -a tennis ball mold OR -a large and small round cookie cutter

Step One: Baking the Cake

To start, you will need to bake a cake. Any flavor will do, but we recommend a vanilla or yellow cake. Once the cake is baked and cooled, crumble it into fine crumbs using a food processor or your hands. If you want your cake pops to be extra moist, add 1-2 tablespoons of icing to the crumbs and mix until evenly distributed.

Step Two: Making the Cake Pops

To make the cake pops, you will need a cake mix, some icing, and some candy melts. You will also need a tennis ball mold.

1. Bake the cake according to the instructions on the cake mix box.
2. Once the cake is baked, allow it to cool completely.
3. Crumble the cake into a large bowl.
4. Add 3/4 cup of icing to the crumbled cake and mix well.
5. Place the cake mixture into the refrigerator for 30 minutes to firm up.
6. Remove the cake mixture from the refrigerator and roll it into balls that are about 1-inch in diameter.
7. Place the cake balls on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and put them in the freezer for 30 minutes to firm up.
8. Melt the candy melts according to the instructions on the package.
9. Dip a lollipop stick into the melted candy and then insert it into each cake ball, being careful not to push it all of the way through.
10. Dip each cake pop into the melted candy and then place it back on the baking sheet lined with parchment paper to set up

Step Three: Decorating the Cake Pops

Next, it’s time to decorate your tennis ball cake pops! You will need:
-Candy melts (I used white and green)
-Lime green sprinkles
-A small paintbrush
-A toothpick

Start by melting your candy melts according to the package directions. Once they are melted, transfer the candy melts to a small plastic bag. Cut a small hole in the corner of the bag and then pipe the candy melts over the top of the cake pop, completely covering it. Be sure to work quickly as the candy melts will start to harden pretty quickly.

Next, use the paintbrush to apply a small amount of candy melt to the back of each sprinkle. Stick the sprinkles onto the side of the cake pop, starting at the bottom and working your way up. You will want to apply pressure to make sure that they stick well.

Finally, use a toothpick to make two small dots for eyes and allow everything to dry completely. Your tennis ball cake pops are now ready to enjoy!
