As one of the most popular WWE Superstars of all time, Chris Jericho is always in demand. But is he coming back to WWE?
Chris Jericho’s current status
At this moment, it is unknown if Chris Jericho is returning to WWE. He has not been seen on WWE programming since May, 2019. Jericho is currently signed with All Elite Wrestling (AEW) and is the lead singer of Fozzy.
His recent projects
In recent years, Jericho has kept busy with a number of different projects outside of WWE.
He’s appeared as a judge on Dancing With The Stars, he’s the lead singer of Fozzy, and he’s starred in a number of movies, including Sharknado 3 and Sylvester Stallone’s The Tooth Fairy.
In 2019, Jericho hosted the game show Downfall, and he is also the author of several books, including the best-selling A Lion’s Tale: Around The World In Spandex.
Most recently, Jericho has been appearing on AEW Dynamite as the leader of The Inner Circle. He’s also currently signed to All Elite Wrestling as a wrestler and on-screen personality.
As of late, Chris Jericho has been peppering his social media platforms with posts that have left WWE fans wondering if “The Ayatollah of Rock ‘n’ Rolla” is on his way back to the company.
The first inkling that something may be up came on March 18th, when Jericho posted a photo of himself wearing a WWE cap with the caption “Time to Play the Game.”
This was followed by a series of posts in which Jericho shared photos and videos of himself watching WWE programming, including Monday Night Raw, NXT and SmackDown Live. He also posted a photo of himself with WWE Chairman Vince McMahon, with the caption “Great seeing you Vince… always a pleasure my friend.”
While this activity could simply be Jericho showing support for his friends in WWE, it has led many fans to speculate that he could be making a return to the company in the near future.
Jericho’s last appearance for WWE came at 2018’s WrestleMania 34, where he defeated former UFC Heavyweight Champion Cain Velasquez in what was Velasquez’s debut match. Following his victory, Jericho went on an extended hiatus from WWE, during which time he toured with his band Fozzy and hosted several podcasts.
The evidence that Chris Jericho is coming back to WWE
Jericho’s recent interactions with WWE Superstars have many people speculating that he may be making a return to WWE. He was recently spotted backstage at a WWE event, and he has been liking tweets about himself from WWE fans. Jericho’s recent social media activity has also led many to believe that he is returning to WWE.
His recent meeting with Vince McMahon
In February 2020, it was rumored that Chris Jericho was seen meeting with WWE owner Vince McMahon. This caused many to speculate that Jericho may be returning to the company.
These rumors were further fueled when, in March 2020, a fan posted a photo of Jericho with McMahon and other WWE officials on Twitter. In the photo, Jericho is wearing a shirt with the name of his Rock ‘n’ Roll band, Fozzy.
Chris Jericho has not been seen in a WWE ring since he lost to Kevin Owens at WrestleMania 33 in April 2017.
Since then, Jericho has kept himself busy with his successful podcast, Talk is Jericho, and his rock band, Fozzy. He has also made occasional wrestling appearances for New Japan Pro Wrestling (NJPW) and All Elite Wrestling (AEW).
Jericho’s current contract with AEW expires in January 2021, leading many to speculate that he may be returning to WWE soon.
Jericho’s recent social media activity has only added fuel to the fire, as he has been liking and retweeting a number of WWE-related tweets over the past few weeks.
While nothing has been confirmed yet, it looks like Chris Jericho could be making his way back to WWE in the near future.
His recent cryptic messages
Chris Jericho has been teasing a return to WWE for weeks now, and there is a growing belief that he may actually be on his way back to the company.
Jericho’s recent cryptic messages on social media have led many to believe that he is in fact coming back to WWE, and there is a lot of evidence to support this claim.
For one, Jericho recently changed his profile picture on Twitter to a close-up of himself wearing a mask, which many have speculated means he will be returning as his “The Masked Man” character.
In addition, Jericho has also been tweeting about WWE recently, including a message about how he “misses” being in WWE.
There is also the fact that Jericho’s band, Fozzy, has cancelled several upcoming tour dates, which has led to speculation that Jericho is taking time off to focus on his wrestling career.
All signs point to Chris Jericho making his return to WWE in the near future, and it looks like he could be in for a big push upon his return.
When Chris Jericho could return to WWE
Chris Jericho is one of the most popular WWE Superstars of all time. He is a six-time WWE world champion and is the first Undisputed Champion in WWE history. Jericho is also a nine-time Intercontinental Champion and a two-time World Tag Team Champion. He is currently the lead singer of the rock band Fozzy. Jericho has been off WWE TV since May, but there have been rumors that he could return soon.
Royal Rumble
One of the most popular rumors surrounding Chris Jericho’s return to WWE is that he will be a surprise entrant in the Royal Rumble match. This would certainly be a huge moment, as Jericho is one of the most popular and recognizable stars in WWE history. He last competed in the Royal Rumble in 2010, and he has only made one appearance in the match since then.
Jericho has said in interviews that he would like to return to WWE someday, but he has not given any indication that he plans to do so in the near future. He is currently signed to a exclusive contract with New Japan Pro-Wrestling, where he is one of the company’s top stars. Jericho is also currently working on a new TV show called “But I’m Chris Jericho,” which is set to premiere on USA Network later this year.
WrestleMania
WrestleMania is WWE’s biggest event of the year, and it appears that Chris Jericho could make his return at this year’s show.
Jericho has been away from WWE since May of last year, when he took a break from wrestling to focus on his band Fozzy. He has not wrestled for WWE since April of 2017, when he lost to Kevin Owens at WrestleMania 33.
However, Jericho’s name has been rumored for a return to WWE in recent months, and it appears that he could be back in time for WrestleMania 34.
Jericho teased a possible return to WWE on social media recently, posting a picture of himself with WWE chairman Vince McMahon. He captioned the picture with the date April 8, 2018, which is the date of this year’s WrestleMania.
While it remains to be seen if Jericho will actually return to WWE at WrestleMania 34, it seems likely that he will at some point in the near future.
SummerSlam
One of the hottest topics in WWE right now is the potential return of Chris Jericho.
Jericho has been on hiatus from WWE since he took time off following last year’s WrestleMania to focus on other projects. He has since popped up on a few episodes of AEW Dynamite, but has not made a full-time return to the company.
However, there is still a lot of speculation that Jericho could make a surprise return to WWE at this year’s SummerSlam. There is no confirmation that this will happen, but it is certainly possible given Jericho’s close relationship with AEW President Tony Khan.
If Jericho does make a return to WWE at SummerSlam, it would likely be for a one-off appearance or match. It is unlikely that he would sign a new contract with the company, as he is said to be happy with his current situation in AEW.
