Who is CJ Stroud?
CJ Stroud is a quarterback from Ohio State University. He was a five-star recruit coming out of high school, and was ranked as the number one quarterback in his class. He has only played one season at Ohio State, but he has already shown signs of being a very good quarterback.
His High School Career
Cj Stroud was a three-sport star at Pickerington Central High School, playing football, basketball, and baseball. He was named the Ohio Gatorade Player of the Year as a senior after throwing for 3,418 yards and 41 touchdowns. Stroud was also a highly touted baseball prospect, but chose to focus on football in college.
His College Career
QB CJ Stroud entered Ohio State as a 4-star recruit and the No. 2 pro-style quarterback in the 2020 class. He was ranked behind only five-star New Jersey native Trevor Lawrence in the 247Sports Composite.
Stroud didn’t see any game action as a freshman, stuck behind Justin Fields and Gunnar Hoak on the depth chart. He transferred to Rutgers in January 2021.
