“We had some really funny times and then we had some really intense times where it was like, all right, we’re really shooting a movie here,” Shumpert told Fox News. “We’ve got to get this scene and this shot.”
Shumpert isn’t the only ex-NBA player in “Uncle Drew.” There’s also Chris Webber, Nate Robinson and Reggie Miller. But Shumpert says he didn’t feel out of place among the seasoned actors.
“It was dope being able to work with so many guys that I actually looked up to when I was coming up,” he said. “To be able to be on set with them and kind of pick their brains about not just basketball but also about how they approach certain scenes and how they attack certain days.”
Shumpert says his experience making “Uncle Drew” has him interested in pursuing more acting roles in the future. But for now, he’s focused on promoting the film and enjoying life outside of the NBA.
