Who is Justin Fields?
Justin Fields is a quarterback who played college football for the Ohio State Buckeyes. He was a highly touted recruit coming out of high school and was widely considered one of the best quarterbacks in the country. After two years at Ohio State, he decided to declare for the NFL draft.
His college career
Justin Fields had a very successful college career, winning the Heisman Trophy in 2019 and leading Ohio State to the National Championship game in 2020. However, he decided to forego his senior year and declare for the NFL Draft. He is projected to be a first-round pick and is expected to be one of the top quarterbacks taken in the 2021 NFL Draft.
His NFL draft prospects
Many experts say that Ohio State quarterback Justin Fields has first-round NFL draft prospects.
Fields was a highly touted recruit when he signed with Georgia in 2018. He played in 12 games as a freshman, starting seven, and completed 55.9 percent of his passes for 2,463 yards with 21 touchdowns and nine interceptions. He also rushed for 266 yards and four touchdowns.
After one season at Georgia, Fields transferred to Ohio State. He played in 11 games as a sophomore, completing 67.2 percent of his passes for 3,273 yards with 41 touchdowns and just three interceptions. He also rushed for 484 yards and 10 touchdowns.
During his junior season, Fields completed 70 percent of his passes for 2,067 yards with 22 touchdowns and just six interceptions. He also rushed for another five touchdowns.
Fields is considered one of the top quarterbacks in the 2021 NFL draft class.
His NFL combine results
Justin Fields had an impressive showing at the NFL combine, turning in a 4.43-second 40-yard dash, 37.5-inch vertical jump and 11-foot broad jump. He also posted a strong time in the three-cone drill (6.8 seconds) and 20-yard shuttle (4.29 seconds).
