Lita’s Retirement
Mary Beth Lyn Moxley is an American professional wrestler, better known by her ring name Lita. She is currently signed to WWE as a commentator and occasional in-ring performer. Lita was a pivotal member of the Attitude Era’s Women’s Division and was considered one of WWE’s top female Superstars of all time. Lita retired from in-ring competition in 2006, but made several on-screen appearances in 2008 and 2009. She was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2014.
Lita’s final match
On September 10, 2006, at Unforgiven, Lita competed in her final match, losing to Mickie James. Lita attempted to physically interfere in the match on James’ behalf, but was stopped by Trish Stratus. The following night on Raw, Lita announced that she was retiring from in-ring action due to injuries.
Lita’s post-retirement
On September 10, 2017, it was announced that Lita would be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame. She was inducted on April 6, 2018 by Trish Stratus. After the ceremony, Lita made a short speech in which she formally announced her retirement from professional wrestling.
Lita has appeared sporadically on WWE television since her induction into the Hall of Fame. In 2019, she made occasional appearances on WWE Backstage, a wrestling discussion show produced by FS1. On the January 7, 2020 episode of SmackDown Live, she appeared in a backstage segment with Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross. The following week on Raw Talk, Lita interviewed Charlotte Flair after her successful title defense against Becky Lynch and Asuka in a triple threat match at Royal Rumble.
Lita’s Return
Lita returned to WWE at the 2020 Royal Rumble as a surprise entrant. She was eliminated by Nia Jax but the fans in attendance gave her a huge pop. It was a great moment for Lita, who is now a member of the WWE Hall of Fame. After the match, she was interviewed by Renee Young and said that she was just happy to be back in a WWE ring.
Lita’s return match
April 13, 2020 will mark a special day in WWE history, as one of the most popular superstars of all time returns to the ring. Lita, real name Amy Dumas, last wrestled for WWE on October 10, 2006, nearly 14 years ago. She will be teaming up with Trish Stratus to take on Mickie James and Alexa Bliss in a tag team match at WrestleMania 36.
This will be Lita’s first wrestling match since she returned to WWE television on the February 10, 2020 episode of Raw. She came out during a eight-woman tag team match and saved Stratus from being attacked by James and Bliss. The two then teams up to take down their opponents.
While it is unclear what Lita’s role in WWE will be going forward, it is clear that fans are excited to see her back in a WWE ring.
Lita’s post-return
It has been nearly two decades since Amy “Lita” Dumas first captivated WWE audiences with her jaw-dropping athleticism, edgy style and rebellious attitude. She quickly established herself as one of the most popular Superstars of her generation and became a 4-time Women’s Champion.
After leaving WWE in 2006, Lita focused on other projects, including acting, fitness and writing. In March 2014, she was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame, cementing her legacy as one of the most influential women in sports-entertainment history.
In January 2017, Lita returned to WWE for the first time in over 10 years as a guest commentator for the Mae Young Classic. The following year, she made sporadic appearances on WWE programming as a backstage interviewer and guest commentator.
As of 2019, Lita is no longer an active member of the WWE roster. However, she remains a beloved figure among the WWE Universe and continues to make occasional appearances on WWE programming.

As of May 2020, Lita is not currently signed to a WWE contract. She is considered to be a free agent and is free to work elsewhere.
Lita has made sporadic appearances for WWE since her retirement from in-ring action in 2006. Her most recent appearance was at WrestleMania 34 in April 2018, when she inducted the Dudley Boyz into the WWE Hall of Fame.
Lita’s current non-WWE status
Lita, who’s real name is Amy Christine Dumas, is currently not signed with WWE. She made her most recent appearance on WWE television on the November 11, 2019 episode of Monday Night Raw, in a losing effort against Mickie James. After the match, she and fellow former WWE Women’s Champion Trish Stratus brawled with James and Charlotte Flair.
Lita has had a few acting roles since leaving WWE in 2006, most notably appearing in the horror films “Laid to Rest” (2009) and “Dead Tone” (2007). She also had a recurring role on USA Network’s “WWE Survivor Series” (2010-2011) and hosted the SyFy reality series “Ultimate Warrior: The Final Countdown” (2015).
Lita currently works as a producer for World Wrestling Entertainment.
