Michael Orr’s History
Michael Orr was drafted in the fourth round of the 2006 NFL Draft by the Green Bay Packers. He played college football at the University of Miami, and was a member of the Hurricanes’ national championship team in 2001. Orr appeared in two games for the Packers as a rookie, but was released by the team in 2007.
Orr’s storied college career
At 6’3” and weighing in at 200 pounds, Michael Orr was not the biggest player on the field. But, he played with a heart that was twice the size of any man on the gridiron. That passion led him to a storied college career, which in turn, led to him being drafted by the New York Jets in the fourth round of the NFL Draft.
Orr played his college ball at West Virginia University, where he was a two-time All-American and helped lead the Mountaineers to a national championship in 1988. After an impressive college career, Orr was drafted by the Jets in 1992. He played four seasons with New York, mostly on special teams, before being released in 1996.
Orr’s time in the NFL
Michael orr was drafted in the 5th round of the 1985 NFL draft by the Miami Dolphins. He played 2 games for the dolphins that season before being waived. Orr was then signed by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and played in their final 5 games of the 1985 season. Orr was with Tampa Bay for 9 seasons (1986-1994), starting in 87 games.
