2K has not yet announced whether NBA 2K22 will feature crossplay. However, given that the game is set to release on next-generation consoles, it’s likely that 2K will include crossplay support.
What is NBA 2K22?
NBA 2K22 is an upcoming basketball simulation video game that is developed by Visual Concepts and published by 2K Games. It is the 23rd installment in the NBA 2K franchise and will be released on September 7, 2021, for Microsoft Windows, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S. The game will feature Damian Lillard of the Portland Trail Blazers as its cover athlete.
What is Crossplay?
Cross-platform play, or crossplay, is the ability to play an online video game across more than one platform — meaning someone playing Fortnite on their PlayStation 4 could be teaming up, or going up against, someone playing the game on their Android phone.
Is NBA 2K22 Crossplay?
The 21st century is the age of cross-platform play. Gamers want to be able to play with their friends, no matter what system they’re using. The trend started with PC and console gamers being able to play together, and has now expanded to mobile gamers being able to join in on the fun. So, is NBA 2K22 crossplay?
Unfortunately, the answer is no. NBA 2K22 does not have crossplay support. This means that you will only be able to play with other gamers who are using the same platform as you. So, if you’re playing on Xbox One, you won’t be able to play with someone who’s playing on PlayStation 4.
There are some exceptions to this rule. For example, Fortnite has full crossplay support across all platforms, so you can play with your friends no matter what they’re using. However, NBA 2K22 does not have this support.
This doesn’t mean that you won’t be able to play with your friends at all. If you and your friends are all using the same platform, then you’ll be able to connect and play together without any problems. It just means that you won’t be able to connect with friends who are using a different platform than you.
How to enable Crossplay in NBA 2K22
Crossplay is a console-exclusive feature that allows players on different consoles to play together online. NBA 2K22 is one of the few games that support crossplay, allowing players on Xbox, PlayStation, and Nintendo Switch to play together in MyTEAM and Pro-Am modes. NBA 2K22 also has dedicated servers for each platform, so players will never be matched with someone on a different server.
To enable crossplay in NBA 2K22, go to the “Options” menu and select “Features.” Scroll down to the “Cross Platform Play” option and set it to “On.” You will now be able to play with friends on other console platforms.
