NBA Youngboy’s arrest in Los Angeles
Rapper NBA Youngboy was arrested in Los Angeles on Saturday night (August 12), according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
The 21-year-old, whose real name is Kentrell Gaulden, was taken into custody at around 9:30 p.m. PT on a felony charge of assault with a deadly weapon, the department said. He is being held on $50,000 bail and is expected to appear in court on Monday (August 14).
It’s unclear what led to the arrest, but Youngboy has been involved in several violent incidents in recent years. In February 2016, he was arrested and charged with attempted first-degree murder after he allegedly shot a man in Miami. The charges were later dropped.
In March 2017, he was arrested on drug and weapons charges in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. And in May 2018, he was arrested for allegedly assaulting his girlfriend Jania Jackson.

NBA Youngboy, real name Kentrell Gaulden, was arrested in Atlanta on an outstanding warrant from Baton Rouge, Louisiana, on Saturday, according to the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office.

According to a report from WSB-TV in Atlanta, NBA Youngboy was released from Fulton County Jail on Thursday morning (May 28).
This news comes after the rapper was arrested on drug and gun charges in April. NBA Youngboy, whose real name is Kentrell DeSean Gaulden, was facing eight counts in total, including two counts of possession of a Schedule I drug, two counts of possession of a Schedule II drug, one count of carrying a concealed weapon, and one count each of marijuana possession, reckless driving and failure to maintain lane.
If convicted on all charges, he could have faced up to 30 years in prison.
