The answer may surprise you – there is an undefeated NFL team, but they’re not who you think they are.
The 1972 Miami Dolphins
The 1972 Miami Dolphins remain the only NFL team with a perfect season, and they did it in style. The Dolphins went 14-0 in the regular season and then won all three of their playoff games, including a victory in Super Bowl VII. They are the only team in NFL history to finish a season undefeated and untied.

The Carolina Panthers were a professional American football team based in Charlotte, North Carolina. The Panthers competed in the National Football League from 1995 to 2001, representing the NFL’s South Division. The team played its home games at Bank of America Stadium in Uptown Charlotte.
At the end of the 2001 season, after posting a 1-15 record, the Panthers were fundamentally dismantled and replaced by a new expansion team, also called the Carolina Panthers. The NFL awarded the first-ever expansion franchise to Charlotte on October 26, 1993. From 1994 to 2001, interim head coachesDom Capers (1995), Paul Maechtle (1996) and George Seifert (1999-2001) led the team while former San Francisco 49ers Defensive Coordinator Vic Fangio was brought in as head coach for one season (1997). Fangio would then return as an assistant under John Fox.
On January 8, 2002, John Fox was hired as the new head coach of the Carolina Panthers. He led them to an NFC Championship game appearance in his second year and a Super Bowl appearance in his third year. The Panthers came close to winning their first ever Super Bowl against the New England Patriots during Super Bowl XXXVIII but lost by a slim margin, 32-29.
Losing to the Denver Broncos in the Super Bowl
The Carolina Panthers lost to the Denver Broncos in Super Bowl 50 by a score of 24-10. This was a crushing defeat for the Panthers, who came into the game as the favorite to win. The Broncos defense was stellar, sacking Panthers quarterback Cam Newton six times and forcing him into two turnovers. Newton was visibly shaken by the loss, and it was clear that the Panthers were not ready to play their best game on the biggest stage.

Both of these teams had exceptional seasons, and it is clear that it takes a lot of skill and luck to achieve this feat.
So, while an undefeated NFL team is possible, it is not likely that we will see another one anytime soon.

The New England Patriots are currently the best team in the NFL with a record of 14-2. They have won two Super Bowls in the past three years and are looking to add a third this year. The Pats have been led by quarterback Tom Brady and head coach Bill Belichick, who have both been with the team for over 15 years.
The Pats have had an incredible run of success, but they are far from the only team to ever go undefeated. In fact, there have been 11 other teams that have gone undefeated in an NFL season. Of those 11, only 7 have gone on to win the Super Bowl.
