Is WWE 2K20 Really That Bad?
Many people are wondering if WWE 2K20 is really as bad as some people are saying. We take a look at the game and see if it’s worth your time and money.
Introduction
It’s been nearly a month since WWE 2K20 was released, and the game has been met with largely negative reviews. Many fans and critics have called it a “disaster,” and it currently holds a Metacritic score of just 38%. So, what went wrong?
There are a number of factors that have contributed to WWE 2K20’s poor reception. First and foremost, the game is plagued by technical issues. It’s full of bugs, crashes frequently, and suffers from major frame rate issues. Secondly, the gameplay is feeling quite dated at this point. It’s similar to what we’ve seen in previous games in the series, but it doesn’t seem to have evolved much over time. Lastly, the game is lacking in content. There are far fewer modes and options than what we’ve seen in other wrestling games.
All things considered, it’s not surprising that WWE 2K20 has been such a disappointment. It’s a buggy, outdated game that doesn’t offer much in terms of content. If you’re looking for a good wrestling game, you might want to wait for next year’s release or check out some of the other options that are available.
The Good
The Good:
WWE 2K20 is a significant improvement over last year’s game. The graphics are much better, the gameplay is more fluid, and the game overall is just more fun to play. The Bad:
However, there are still some problems with WWE 2K20. The A.I. can be very cheap at times, the online matchmaking is still atrocious, and the game still has some bugs and glitches.
The Bad
There’s no sugarcoating it, WWE 2K20 is a bad game. It’s buggy, it’s ugly, and it doesn’t even seem to be finished. There are graphical glitches, animation errors, and audio issues. The gameplay is sluggish and often unresponsive. The new MyCareer mode is a hot mess, and the game is missing several features that have been in previous entries in the series. WWE 2K20 is a broken game, and it’s not worth your time or money.
The Ugly
Let’s start with the elephant in the room or, in this case, the giant skeleton in WWE 2K20’s closet: the glitches. MyCareer mode is plagued by them. For example, while playing as female MyPlayer, I got stuck in a loading screen after an in-game cutscene and had to restart the mode from scratch. That’s not even the worst of it. There are also reports of Superstars falling through the ring, sound effects not playing and more. I experienced several of these glitches myself and they mars what is otherwise a mostly enjoyable experience.
Conclusion
WWE 2K20 is not a good game. From the buggy MyCareer mode to the lack of interesting new match types, there’s very little to recommend here. The franchise needs a complete overhaul, and it’s probably best to wait for next year’s game or even the one after that.
