The Kohl Center
The Kohl Center is a 15,000-seat multi-purpose arena on the campus of the University of Wisconsin in Madison, Wisconsin. The arena opened in 1998 and is the home of the Wisconsin Badgers men’s and women’s basketball teams The center is also home to the Wisconsin men’s Hockey Team and the women’s volleyball team.
The Seating Chart
The Kohl Center is a 15,600-seatmulti-purpose arena on the campus of the University of Wisconsin–Madison in Madison, Wisconsin. The building, which opened in 1998, is the home of the Wisconsin Badgers men’s basketball and Wisconsin Badgers women’s Basketball teams It also houses offices for the university’s athletic department.
The arena currently seats up to 15,599 for basketball games 15,274 for NHL games and as many as 16,137 for concerts. The Kohl Center ranks second in the Big Ten Conference in size behind only Assembly Hall at Indiana University
The Floor
The Kohl Center’s floor level is divided into sideline and baseline seating. Sideline seats are located along each side of the court, while baseline seats are behind each basket.
The sideline sections at the Kohl Center are lettered A through Z, with section A being closest to midcourt on the east side of the court and section Z being closest to midcourt on the west side of the court. The baseline sections at the Kohl Center are lettered AA through JJ, with section AA being closest to midcourt on the east side of the court and section JJ being closest to midcourt on the west side of the court.
The Lower Level
The Kohl Center has a capacity of 17,230 seats. The seats are divided into four levels: the A Level (upper level), B Level (middle level), C Level (lower level), and D Level (floor). The A, B, and C levels each have 24 sections, while the D Level only has six. In total, there are 81 sections in the Kohl Center.
The Lower Level is made up of sections 101-116 and is closest to the court. It provides a great view of the game and is a Great Place to be if you’re a die-hard fan.
The Upper Level
The Upper Level of the Kohl Center is made up of four sections: A, B, C, and D. Sections A and D are on the ends of the court, while Sections B and C are in the middle.
The suites
There are twelve private suites at the Kohl Center. Each suite has 16 fixed seats, four bar stools and a couch. In addition, each suite has room for four standing-room-only guests. All suites have an outdoor patio with setbacks from the playing floor. Kohl Center suites are leased on a yearly basis and include catering and private restroom facilities.
The club seats
The club seats are located on the west side of the Kohl Center, and are considered some of the best seats in the house. These seats offer a great view of the court, and are also some of the most comfortable, with plenty of leg room and upscale amenities.
The student section
The Kohl Center has a seating capacity of 17,230 for basketball games The student section is located in the northwest and southwest corners of the arena and includes approximately 4,000 seats.
The visitor’s section
When you visit the Kohl Center to watch the Badgers play basketball you’ll be seated in the visitor’s section. This is typically located in the Upper Deck of the arena, on the side of the court opposite of the team benches. Depending on the game and the opponent, tickets in the visitor’s section can be very difficult to come by.
The press box
The press box is located on the west side of the fourth level. To gain access, guests must have a press pass or be a guest of someone with a pass. There are wheelchair-accessible spaces in the Front Row of the press box, and elevator access is available from the main concourse.
