Bearcat Basketball: The Off-Season

As the 2017-2018 Bearcat basketball season comes to an end, the team is already looking ahead to next year. The off-season is a time for the players to rest and recover from any injuries sustained during the season. It’s also a time for the Coaching Staff to evaluate what worked well this past season and what needs to be improved upon.

One of the biggest challenges the team will face is finding a replacement for Senior guard Cane Leadingham. Leadingham was the Bearcats’ leading scorer and provided a much-needed spark on offense. His departure leaves a big hole in the lineup that will need to be filled.

The coaching staff is also focused on improving the team’s defense. The Bearcats gave up too many easy baskets this past season and that led to some close losses. If they can shore up their defense, they should be in good shape heading into next year.

The off-season is an important time for the Bearcats Basketball Program as they look to build on their success from this past year. With some key personnel changes and some areas of improvement, they should be poised for another successful season
