Introduction

Since its founding in 1957, Pine Richland Baseball has been one of the premier youth baseball programs in Western Pennsylvania. Our goal is to provide a positive, enriching environment for all our players to develop their skills and love for the game.

We are proud of our tradition of excellence, and we are committed to continue providing a high-quality baseball experience for all our players.

The Early Days

Pine Land Baseball has a long and storied history, dating back to the early days of the sport. The team was founded in 1892, and quickly became one of the most successful baseball teams in Pennsylvania. The team won the state championship in 1896, and followed that up with titles in 1897 and 1898.

The Championship Years

Since winning their first WPIAL baseball championship in 1998, the Pine Richland Rams have been one of the most successful programs in the district. Under the guidance of Head Coach Mark Battaglia, the Rams have won nine WPIAL titles and four PIAA State Championships

Battaglia, who took over the program in 1996, has a career record of 624-173-1, good for a .783 winning percentage. His teams have averaged more than 20 wins per season during his tenure.

The Rams have been especially dominant in recent years winning six WPIAL championships and three state titles since 2009. They are currently riding a streak of four straight WPIAL titles and are looking to add another state championship this season.

Pine Richland baseball has become one of the district’s premier programs under Battaglia’s leadership. The team’s success on the field is a testament to his coaching ability and the hard work of his players.
