As a senior, she was named IHSA Class 4A State Player of the Year.
Curry played in all 33 games for Notre Dame as a freshman, starting 13 of them. But what does that mean, exactly?
For Curry, it means working harder than ever to perfect her craft. It means studying film of herself and her opponents to find new ways to improve. And it means constantly pushing herself in practice, Whether she’s going up against boys or girls, she wants to be the best basketball player she can be.
Curry has always been a talented player, but now she’s starting to realize that talent won’t be enough to get her where she wants to go. It takes dedication, determination and hard work to achieve goals like playing college ball or making it to the WNBA one day.
So far, curry is on the right track. She’s been recruited by several colleges and is currently being scouted by the WNBA. With her sights set on the next level, there’s no telling how far she’ll go.

This season, Curry has raised her game to another level. She’s averaging 22 points, 6 rebounds, and 5 assists per game Her shooting percentage has also gone up, from 38% last season to 45% this season.

In Sydney’s opener, she had 24 points, 12 rebounds, and six assists in a victory over Central Catholic She followed that up with 21 points and eight rebounds in a win over Jefferson. In December, she had 28 points and 10 rebounds in a victory over St. Joseph’s Academy.
In January, Curry had consecutive games with at least 30 points and 10 rebounds. First, she had 32 points and 11 rebounds in a victory over East St. Louis Two days later, she had 30 points and 10 rebounds in a win over Belleville West.
Sydney continued her strong play throughout the rest of the season. In February, she had 27 points, eight rebounds, and five assists in a victory over Carbondale. She followed that up with 23 points and seven rebounds in a win over O’Fallon. In the state semifinals, she had 17 points and eight rebounds in a loss to eventual state champion Edwardsville.
