Baseball Super Regional Headed to Tennessee

The Tennessee baseball team is headed to the Super Regional round of the NCAA tournament! Here’s everything you need to know about the big games.

The Baseball Super Regional is headed to Tennessee this year! This is a prestigious event that will bring some of the best teams in the country to compete against each other. This is a great opportunity for the state of Tennessee to showcase its love of baseball and its commitment to the sport.

Super Regionals

The NCAA Division I Baseball Super Regionals are headed to Tennessee! This best-of-three tournament will take place from June 10-13 at a yet-to-be determined location. The winner of this tournament will advance to the College World Series

Headed to Tennessee

The college baseball season is in Full Swing and the top teams in the country are vying for a spot in the postseason. One of the most anticipated events of the year is the Super Regional which pits the best teams from each region against each other in a best-of-three series.

This year, the Tennessee Volunteers are one of the top teams in the country and they will be hosting a Super Regional at their home stadium, Lindsey Nelson Stadium The Vols are looking to make a run at the College World Series and they will be playing against some of the best teams in the country.

This is sure to be a Great Event for college baseball fans and it will be exciting to see how the Vols fare against some of the best teams in the country.

Game One

The Volunteers won game one of the best-of-three series against the Mississippi State Bulldogs 9-8 in a game that took eleven innings to complete. The Volunteers were down 8-6 in the bottom of the ninth inning when Richard Amion hit a two-run homerun to tie the game. The game remained tied until the bottom of the eleventh inning when Mississippi State reliever Cole Shultz gave up a walk-off homerun to Tennessee’s A.J. Simcox.

Game Two

The game was scoreless through four innings, but in the top of the fifth, the Volunteers broke things open. A leadoff double by second baseman Nick Senzel was followed by a walk to third baseman Blake Hamilton. Center fielder ronald Tennessee then delivered a two-run double to right field, giving the Volunteers a 2-0 lead.

In the bottom of the fifth, Florida responded with a run of their own. Right fielder Buddy Reed singled to lead off the inning and then stole second base. After an out, he scored on a single by Left fielder Peter Alonso, cutting the Tennessee lead to 2-1.

The game remained close until the top of the ninth when Tennessee added two insurance runs. With one out, first baseman Vincente Conde walked and then stole second base. After an out, he scored on a single by right fielder Nate Greene. Greene then scored on a double by Senzel, making it 4-1 Tennessee.

That would prove to be enough as Florida went down in order in the bottom of the ninth, giving Tennessee the win and a trip to Omaha for the College World Series

Game Three

Super Regional action will continue on Monday Night as the Tennessee Volunteers host the Michigan Wolverines in the decisive Game Three of their best-of-three series.

The Volunteers took the first game of the series on Saturday, thanks to a strong pitching performance from starter Lucas Sims. However, the Wolverines evened things up on Sunday with a come-from-behind victory, setting up Monday’s winner-take-all showdown.

First pitch is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. ET, and the game will be televised on ESPN2.

If Necessary

The game, if necessary, will be played on Monday at 1 p.m. EDT.

Pitching Matchups

Caleb Gilbert will get the start for LSU in Game 1 and will be opposed by Tennessee’s Garrett Stallings. In Game 2, it will be Tigers’ Zack Hess taking on the Vols’ Connor Darling.

Game One Preview

The top-seeded Volunteers of the University of Tennessee are set to host the second-seeded Stanford Cardinal in a three-game series in the NCAA Division I Baseball Super Regional The first game is set for Friday, June 11 at 7 p.m. ET at Lindsey Nelson Stadium in Knoxville, Tennessee.

The Volunteers (51-16) come into the series having won 13 of their last 14 games, including a 3-2 victory over Mississippi State in the final game of the NCAA Regional Tournament Stanford (42-16), meanwhile, has won eight straight games, most recently defeating UC Irvine 10-5 to win the NCAA regional tournament

Friday’s game will feature a matchup of two of the best pitchers in college baseball as Tennessee’s Will Neely (12-1, 2.48 ERA) is set to take on Stanford’s Brendan Beck (12-2, 2.48 ERA). Neely was named the Most Outstanding Player of the NCAA regional tournament after pitching seven innings of one-run baseball inTennessee’s victory over Mississippi State Beck, meanwhile, went 2-0 with a 1.29 ERA in Stanford’s two games in the NCAA Regional tournament.

Game Two Preview

The Tennessee Volunteers and the Florida Gators will face off in game two of the NCAA Super Regional tomorrow afternoon. The Vols took game one in a close contest, and will look to build on their lead in the best-of-three series.

Florida will turn to pitcher Tommy Mace to try and even the series, while Tennessee will counter with Andrew Abbott First pitch is scheduled for 1:00pm ET, and the game will be televised on ESPN2.
