The Worst of the Rest

Just missing the cut for our list of the top Travel Baseball teams in the country are the following clubs. These teams just barely missed out on our ranking, but they are still some of the best in the nation.

The Surprise Teams

While a few of the teams in our Top 25 rankings below didn’t surprise us with their performance this season, there were several that did. Here are four that stand out:

-The Tampa Bay Rays went from being a middle-of-the-pack team in 2020 to one of the best in baseball in 2021. They have a deep and talented roster that is capable of contending for a World Series title.
-The Miami Marlins are another team that made a big jump this season. They have an exciting young core of players that have helped them become one of the best teams in the National League
-The Oakland A’s are always a tough team to beat, but they really turned it on in 2021 and vaulted themselves into contender status.
-The Minnesota Twins are another team that was among the best in baseball this season. They have a deep lineup and a strong pitching staff that makes them a tough opponent for any team.

The Disappointing Teams

The top baseball teams in the country have been announced, and there are a few surprises. The biggest disappoinment has to be the Philadelphia Phillies who were ranked #1 in the preseason but finished the season with a losing record.

The Wild Cards

In baseball, a Wild Card team is a team that did not win its division but still qualified for the playoffs.

There are two Wild Card teams in each league (the American League and the National League). The Wild Card teams in each league play each other in a one-game playoff to determine who will advance to the Division Series
