What the NFL Playoffs Will Look Like

NFL Playoff Picture – what the NFL Playoffs will look like. Find out who’s in and who’s out of the NFL Playoffs.

Introduction

The NFL playoffs are here, and while some FanDuelers may be disappointed their favorite team didn’t make it, there’s still plenty of DFS goodness to be had. We’re going to take a look at all four Wild Card games, what FanDuel is offering, and some key storylines for each matchup.

The first game of the weekend is the Indianapolis Colts vs. the Buffalo Bills. This will be a rematch of sorts from Week 16 when the Colts easily handled the Bills 27-17. The second game on Saturday will feature the Seattle Seahawks traveling to Dallas to take on the Cowboys. These two teams met back in Week 3 with the Seahawks coming out on top 24-13.

On Sunday, we’ll see the Los Angeles Rams head to Lambeau Field to take on the Green Bay Packers in what should be a cold one. These two teams last played in 2015 when the Rams were still in St. Louis. The Baltimore Ravens will cap off Wild Card weekend when they travel to New England to take on the Patriots. These two teams played just last week when the Ravens won easily 37-20.

The New NFL Playoff Format

The 2020 NFL playoffs will feature a new playoff format that will include 14 teams instead of the usual 12. This means that there will be two additional wild card teams in each conference. This could potentially make for some interesting matchups and more exciting football to watch in the playoffs.

The New Format

The NFL playoffs will look a little different this year, as the league has expanded the field from 12 to 14 teams.

The top seed in each conference will now receive a bye week in the first round of the playoffs, while the second and third seeds will host games against the seventh and sixth seeds, respectively. The fourth and fifth seeds will also host games, but against the two new wild card teams.

This setup is similar to what is used in college football’s bowl game system.

The NFL playoff expansion means that there will be more games on Wild Card Weekend than in years past. Eight teams will now be in action during that first weekend, with four games on both Saturday and Sunday.

How It Works

The current NFL playoff format is a 12-team tournament. The top seed in each conference gets a bye in the first round. The other four division winners are seeded 2-5 based on their records. Those four teams host the four lowest-seeded wild-card teams (seeded 7-10), with the higher seed hosting each game.

The new NFL playoff format is a 14-team tournament. The top seed in each conference gets a bye in the first round. The next six seeds are division winners. The remaining eight seeds will be the wild-card teams, with the highest seeds getting to play at home.

This means that there will be three wild-card games in each conference instead of just one, and that there will be at least one wild-card team with a losing record (assuming that there are no ties).

The Playoffs

The NFL playoffs are a single-elimination tournament held after the end of the regular season to determine the champion of the National Football League (NFL). The playoffs begin in January and end in February. The Wild Card Round

The first round of the playoffs is called the Wild Card round. This is when the four best teams who did not win their division play each other. The two winners from this round move on to the next round, which is called the Divisional Round.

The Divisional Round

In the Divisional Round, the lowest remaining seed in each conference will play host to the top remaining seed. The other two games will pit the second-lowest remaining seed against the second-highest remaining seed, and the third-lowest remaining seed against the third-highest remaining seed.

The team with the better record will be designated as the “home” team, even though there may be no fans in attendance. The home team will have their choice of jersey color.

For example, if the New Orleans Saints (the #1 seed in the NFC) were to play the Minnesota Vikings (the #6 seed), the Saints would be considered the home team.

The Conference Championships

The NFL Conference Championships are the final two rounds of the NFL playoffs. The four teams that win their divisional playoff games will advance to the Conference Championships, with the two winners advancing to the Super Bowl. The Conference Championships will be played on Sunday, January 24, 2021.

AFC Championship Game: The AFC Championship game will be played at 3:05 p.m. ET and will be televised on CBS. The AFC Championship game will be played at Heinz Field in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

NFC Championship Game: The NFC Championship game will be played at 6:40 p.m. ET and will be televised on FOX. The NFC Championship game will be played at Lambeau Field in Green Bay, Wisconsin.

The Super Bowl

The Super Bowl is the biggest and most important American football game of the year. It is the annual championship game of the National Football League (NFL). The game is played by the winning teams from the NFL’s two conferences, the American Football Conference (AFC) and the National Football Conference (NFC). The winner of the Super Bowl receives the Vince Lombardi Trophy, named after the former head coach of the Green Bay Packers, who won the first two Super Bowl games. The game was first played in 1967.

Conclusion

The NFL playoffs are finally here and we know what the matchups will look like.
In the AFC, the New England Patriots will take on the Tennessee Titans and the Pittsburgh Steelers will go up against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
In the NFC, it will be the Minnesota Vikings vs. the New Orleans Saints and then the Los Angeles Rams vs. either the Carolina Panthers or the Atlanta Falcons.
These are all great matchups that should produce some very exciting football games. So, sit back, relax and enjoy the NFL playoffs!
