FS2 originally launched on August 17, 2013 as Fuel TV. The network was originally built around a subscription service that allowed subscribers to watch live Fuel TV programming on mobile devices. However, FOX Sports ultimately discontinued the service in favor of making Fuel TV a general-interest cable network featuring live sporting events and======= reruns of popular FOX Sports-produced programming such as This Week in Baseball.

In addition to carrying selected college and high school sporting events, FS2 also airs simulcasts of Regional Sports Networks featuring Major League Baseball, Major League Soccer and NASCAR races, as well as Showtime Championship Boxing coverage. The network also serves as the national broadcasts for many UFC matches and events.
