WWE on Television

WWE is an American professional wrestling promotion based in Stamford, Connecticut. WWE has been associated with television since the 1950s. In recent years, WWE has been on multiple channels including the USA Network, Syfy, and Spike.

USA Network

WWE Monday Night Raw originally aired on the USA Network on January 11, 1993. The two-hour show has since expanded to three hours. It is the longest running regularly scheduled show in US television history, airing every week 52 weeks a year. WWE SmackDown originally aired on UPN on April 29, 1999 before moving to the CW in 2006 and then MyNetworkTV in 2008. It currently airs Friday nights on Fox. WWE Main Event airs Wednesdays on Hulu and WWE Network. WWE NXT originally debuted in 2010 as a weekly show on Syfy before moving to the WWE Network in 2015 where it now airs Wednesday nights.

FOX

WWE on FOX is the propaganda arm of the professional wrestling entertainment juggernaut that is Vince McMahon’s WWE. It is a new channel that only exists to show WWE programming and nothing else.

NBC

WWE generally airs its flagship shows, Raw and SmackDown, on NBC.

WWE Raw, which is currently the longest-running episodic television show in history, first aired on January 11, 1993. The show has been aired live on Monday nights since 2005.

WWE SmackDown first aired on August 26, 1999 as a flagship show of the now-defunct UPN network. It originally aired Thursdays before moving to Fridays in 2005. In October 2010, SmackDown began airing live on Tuesdays.

WWE on Pay-Per-View

WWE’s primary broadcaster is currently Pay-Per-View. This is available through most cable and satellite providers. You can also order WWE PPVs through the WWE Network.

WWE Network

WWE Network is an American over-the-top streaming service and former television network owned by WWE. It was originally established in February 2014 as the first-ever 24/7 streaming network devoted to professional wrestling, but was later rebranded as a “digital subscription service” in April 2017.

The network is available through various platforms such as web browsers, apps for iOS and Android devices, digital media players, video game consoles and smart TVs. Subscribers can access WWE content through their monthly subscription fee, as well as through a free trial period. There is also a paid-for service called WWE Premium, which gives subscribers access to additional content such as exclusive shows and pay-per-view events.

The WWE Network was first launched in the United States on February 24, 2014. The service was later made available in Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Hong Kong, Malaysia, India, the Philippines, South Africa and several other countries. The network became available in the United Kingdom and Ireland on October 28, 2014. It was later launched in Mexico on December 31st of the same year.

Traditional Pay-Per-View

WWE offers a wide range of programming that can be seen on pay-per-view. This includes all of the traditional “big four” events, as well as several other annual shows. The traditional pay-per-view events are WrestleMania, SummerSlam, Survivor Series, and Royal Rumble. These are the flagship events for WWE, and are typically four to six hours in length. WWE also offers several other annual shows, such as the Elimination Chamber, Money in the Bank, and TLC: Tables, Ladders & Chairs. These shows are generally two to three hours in length.
