University of Miami
The University of Miami has had 267 NFL players drafted since the common draft era began in 1967, the most of any school. Miami also has more first-round draft picks (44) and consensus All-Americans (32) than any other school.
Ohio State University
Since the NFL began in 1920, Ohio State University has been one of the most represented schools in the league. As of the 2020 season, a total of 541 Ohio State alumni have played in the NFL, more than any other school. The list of notable Ohio State NFL players includes Pro Football Hall of Famers like Dick LeBeau, Kurt Warner, and Orlando Pace, as well as active stars like Joey Bosa, Ezekiel Elliott, and Michael Thomas.
University of Notre Dame
The University of Notre Dame has produced more NFL players than any other college, with 217 to its name. The school’s football program is one of the most storied in the country, with 11 national championships and seven Heisman Trophy winners. College Football Playoff

It began with the 2014 NCAA Division I FBS football season. Four teams play in two semi-final games, and then the winners advance to the College Football Playoff National Championship.
NFL Players and Their Colleges
It’s no secret that some colleges produce more NFL talent than others. The question is, which colleges have produced the most NFL players? We took a look at the numbers and here’s what we found.
University of Alabama
The University of Alabama has produced more NFL players than any other college, with 83 players currently in the league. Alabama has also had 18 first-round draft picks in the last 10 years, the most of any school.
Other colleges that have produced a lot of NFL talent include Ohio State (77 players), Miami (74 players), USC (69 players) and Florida (67 players).
Louisiana State University
Louisiana State University, located in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, is a public research university and one of the flagship institutions of the Louisiana State University System. LSU was founded in 1853 and is currently one of the nation’s largest universities with over 28,000 students.
LSU has a long history of producing NFL players, dating back to the first NFL draft in 1936. In total, LSU has had 247 players drafted into the NFL, which is the sixth most of any college. LSU has had at least one player drafted in every NFL draft since 1962. In the past decade, LSU has had 34 players drafted into the NFL, which is tied for the fourth most of any college.
Some of the most notable LSU alumni to play in the NFL include Pro Football Hall of Famers Billy Cannon, Kevin Mawae, and Warren Sapp. Other notable LSU alumni who have played in the NFL include Odell Beckham Jr., Patrick Peterson, Jarvis Landry, Tyrann Mathieu, and Leonard Fournette.
University of Oklahoma
OU has had more players drafted in the NFL than any other school since 2005. It’s not even close. The school has had 46 players drafted in that span, almost twice as many as the second-most prodigious producer of NFL talent, Ohio State. OU’s output is all the more impressive because it has done it without cranking out first-round picks. The Sooners have had just six players drafted in the first round since 2005, tied for 10th among all schools.
Some other notable programs round out the top five: USC (38), Florida (37) and Texas (36). All five of those schools have been to the College Football Playoff, and OU is the only one that hasn’t won a national title in that span.
