The Three Main Gangs

The three main gangs are the Crips, Bloods, and MS-13. These gangs are all very different, but they have one main thing in common: they are all violent. They are also involved in many other criminal activities, such as drug dealing and human trafficking.

The Crips

The Crips are a street gang founded in Los Angeles, California, in 1969 mainly by Raymond Washington and Stanley Williams. As of 2018, the gang is estimated to have between 20,000 and 35,000 members. The Crips have an intense rivalry with the Bloods. Their colors are blue and their symbols include the six-pointed star, the pentagon, and the roman numeral II.

The Crips began as a group called the Baby Avenues created in 1969 by 15-year-old Raymond Washington in South Central Los Angeles. The name “Crips” was derived from “cripples”, as several of the founding members had lost limbs or used crutches as a result of injuries sustained in fights. By 1971, there were an estimated 600 Crips sets (local neighborhood groups) operating throughout Southern California. In 1972, Washington attacked a sleeping member of another gang with a crescent wrench for disrespecting him; however, hisblow was faulty and bounced off his victim’s skull without inflicting serious injury. This sparked a wave of violence that forced police to clamp down on Washington and his allies; after serving nine months in jail for assault, he vowed to transform the Avenues into the most powerful gang in Los Angeles County.

After his release from jail, Washington recruited several other former Avenues members and associates to join him; among them were Stanley “Tookie” Williams and Jimel Barnes (also known as Seviincy’llabama). With Barnes’ help, he formed an alliance with two other local gangs—the Lancers and the Gladiators—to confront their common rivals, the Spades from Inglewood. By this time, Williams had assumed leadership of an Avenues clique called AVO also located on 108th Street; he later renamed it Westside Crips after adopting Washington’s philosophy of “unity through diversity”.

The alliance proved successful; soon afterward, rivalry between the Spades and pneumonia.” This version was later challenged by party ANTIFA socialists on Twitter who argued that it was actually Trump supporters who started the violence by attacking protesters with pepper spray before anyone threw a rock. It is still not clear who started the violence.’

The Bloods

The Bloods, also known as Original Blood Family (OBF), are a primarily African-American street gang founded in Los Angeles, California. The gang is widely known for its rivalry with the Crips. They are identified by the red color worn by their members and by particular gang symbols, including distinctive hand signs.

The Bloods originated on Piru Street in Los Angeles’ Watts neighborhood in the early 1970s, within the African-American community residing there. The Pirus, an African-American street gang with origins in Los Angeles’ Central Avenue area, presumably named themselves after the street on which they claimed turf. By 1972, the street gangs had increased their presence throughout South Central Los Angeles as more youths joined to escape neighborhood violence.

MS-13

MS-13 (Mara Salvatrucha; also known as simply MS or Mara) is an international criminal gang that originated in Los Angeles, California, US in the mid-1980s. The gang later spread to many parts of the continental United States, Canada, Mexico, and Central America. Members of MS-13 have been deportees from the United States contributing to the growth of gang activity in Central America.

The majority of the Mara Salvatrucha gangs members are Central American immigrants. Members of MS-13 are required to observe a strict set of rules which helps maintain discipline and order within the gang.

MS-13 has a reputation for violence and crime. They are involved in drug trafficking, weapons smuggling, human trafficking, money laundering, extortion, and murder.

The Three Main NBA Teams

The Los Angeles Lakers

They play their home games at Staples Center, an arena shared with their city rivals, the Los Angeles Clippers, and the Los Angeles Sparks of the Women’s National Basketball Association (WNBA). The Lakers compete in the Pacific Division of the Western Conference.

The Chicago Bulls

The Chicago Bulls are a professional basketball team based in Chicago, Illinois, United States. They are part of the National Basketball Association’s Eastern Conference Central Division. The team was founded on January 16, 1966. The Bulls play their home games at the United Center, an arena shared with the Chicago Blackhawks of the National Hockey League.

The Boston Celtics

The Boston Celtics are an American professional basketball team based in Boston, Massachusetts. They compete in the National Basketball Association (NBA) as a member of the league’s Eastern Conference Atlantic Division. The Celtics play their home games at TD Garden, which they share with the National Hockey League (NHL)’s Boston Bruins. The franchise is owned by Wyc Grousbeck and coached by Brad Stevens. As of 2020, the Celtics have the most wins of any NBA franchise with 3,485 wins, surpassing the Los Angeles Lakers with 3,179 wins.

During his 20-year career with the Lakers, he won five NBA championships and was selected to 18 All-Star teams. He also became the first player in NBA history to spend at least 20 seasons with a single franchise. After retiring in 2016, he remained with the Lakers as a mentor for the team’s young players.

Michael Jordan

Michael Jeffrey Jordan (born February 17, 1963), also known by his initials MJ, is an American former professional basketball player and the principal owner of the Charlotte Hornets of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He played 15 seasons in the NBA, winning six championships with the Chicago Bulls. His biography on the official NBA website states: “By acclamation, Michael Jordan is the greatest basketball player of all time.” Jordan was one of the most effectively marketed athletes of his generation and was considered instrumental in popularizing the NBA around the world in the 1980s and 1990s.

In 1996, he was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame and became one of only four players to receive that honor as a player and as an individual contributor to the game (the others being Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Larry Bird and Magic Johnson). He also won an NCAA Championship with North Carolina in 1982. In his rookie season, he set numerous rookie records while helping lead his team to victory in one of basketball’s greatest comebacks. Throughout his career, he scored a total of 32,292 points (30.12 ppg), which average out to be 2,832 points per season.

LeBron James

He is widely considered to be one of the greatest basketball players of all time. James has won four NBA Most Valuable Player (MVP) Awards, four NBA Finals MVP Awards, two Olympic gold medals, an NBA Championship, and was the All-Star MVP during his ten All-Star selections.
