MEPW’s first event was held on April 7, 2016, at the Talking Stick Resort Arena in Phoenix, Arizona. The event was headlined by Daniel Bryan and Brie Bella defeating Kurt Angle and Ronda Rousey in a mixed tag team match.
In July 2016, it was reported that MEPW had signed a television deal with the El Rey Network. The deal would see MEPW’s flagship show, MEPW Anarchy, airing on the network. MEPW Anarchy debuted on October 5, 2016.
