What Happened To Nia Jax Wwe?
Nia Jax, who is currently signed to WWE, has been out of action since May 2019. It was reported that she had suffered a knee injury and would be sidelined for six to eight months. However, it’s now been over a year and there is still no sign of Nia Jax. So, what happened to her?
Introduction
Nia Jax is a former WWE wrestler who has been away from the company since early 2020. It was reported that she had requested and was granted time off to deal with personal issues. As of May 2020, it is still unclear when or if she will return to WWE.
WWE’s Statement
On April 25, 2020, WWE issued the following statement on the status of Nia Jax:
“As a result of the injuries she sustained at the hands of Ronda Rousey on last night’s Raw, Nia Jax has been sidelined indefinitely. Stay with WWE.com for further updates as they become available.”
Nia Jax’s Statement
In an emotional statement released on social media, Jax said that she had undergone surgery to repair a “humeral head fracture” in her right arm.
Jax said that the injury occurred during her match with Ronda Rousey at WWE TLC on December 16. During the match, Jax attempted to perform a Samoan drop on Rousey, but Rousey was able to twist out of it and landed on top of Jax, resulting in the injury.
Jax said that she initially tried to tough it out and continue wrestling, but after the pain became too much, she decided to go to the hospital.
“It was one of those things where I could either keep fighting through the pain or get it fixed and come back stronger,” Jax said. “So I chose to get it fixed.”
Jax said that she is now focusing on her recovery and thanked her fans for their support.
Where is Nia Jax Now?
Nia Jax is no longer with WWE. She last appeared on television on the January 3, 2021 episode of Monday Night Raw, after which she was released from her contract. As of February 2021, she is signed with All Elite Wrestling (AEW).
It was reported that Jax had been unhappy with her position in WWE for some time, and had asked for her release in early 2020. However, her request was reportedly denied. She then took time off from WWE due to personal issues, before returning to television in September 2020.
Jax’s departure from WWE was surprising to many fans, as she was a top star in the women’s division and had recently loaned her services to help promote the 2020 Royal Rumble event. It was speculated that her release may have been due to financial reasons, as WWE had been cutting costs due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Conclusion
Nia Jax is not injured and is currently on a leave of absence from WWE.
