The Miz’s WWE Debut
On October 20, 2006, The Miz made his WWE debut on SmackDown, defeating Nunzio in a singles match. After having various tag team partners, he won the WWE Tag Team Championship with John Morrison. The Miz then went on to have a successful singles career, winning the WWE Intercontinental Championship and the WWE United States Championship. He also won the 2010 WWE King of the Ring tournament and the 2011 WWE Money in the Bank ladder match.
The Miz’s first WWE match
The Miz made his WWE debut in 2006, losing to Tyson Tomko on an episode of Velocity. The following week, he defeated Basham in a dark match before SmackDown. The Miz has held the WWE Championship for a total of 48 days, the Intercontinental Championship for a total of 210 days, the United States Championship for a total of 21 days, and the Tag Team Championship for a total of 28 days. The Miz’s first post-WWE match
After being drafted to RAW in the 2007 WWE Draft, The Miz quickly found his place on the show, becoming a key player in the newly-formed tag team of Eugene and Hornswoggle, which became known as “The Handicapped Heroes”. The Miz would also form a brief alliance with John Morrison, before the two would become bitter rivals.
In 2009, The Miz was drafted to SmackDown as part of the 2009 WWE Draft. It was on SmackDown where The Miz would find his greatest success in WWE, winning the Intercontinental Championship and United States Championship, before eventually decending into a mid-card role.
In 2016, after being unutilized on WWE programming for months, The Miz was released from his WWE contract. Just one day after his release, The Miz made his return to independent wrestling, competing in a match for Northeast Wrestling.
The Miz’s first post-WWE feud
After being drafted to the Raw brand in 2009, The Miz feuded with John Morrison, Dolph Ziggler, Chris Jericho, and R-Truth. The Miz then went on to make his WrestleMania debut at WrestleMania XXVI, defeating Morrison to retain the WWE United States Championship. two months later, at Extreme Rules, The Miz dropped the title to Ziggler in a steel cage match. After losing the title, The Miz pinned Jericho at Capitol Punishment.
