History
G2 Esports, formerly known as Gamers2, is a Spanish professional esports organization located in Madrid. The organization was founded in November 2013 by Carlos “ocelote” Rodriguez Santiago. G2 Esports currently has players competing in Counter Strike: Global Offensive, League of Legends, Rocket League and Hearthstone.
G2 Esports had their start in Counter Strike: Global Offensive with their CS:GO team being formed from the former Leo Messi Team that was created by Carlos “ocelote” Rodriguez Santiago and Jordi “eco” Ribeiro Farré. The team’s first Counter Strike: Global Offensive Major was at ESL One Cologne 2015 where they placed 9th-12th. G2 Esports would go on to compete in multiple majors including ESL One Cologne 2016 where they placed 3rd-4th and the ELEAGUE Major 2017 where they placed 9th-11th.
In November 2015, G2 Esports expanded their Counter Strike: Global Offensive roster by signing Kévin “Ex6TenZ” Droolans, Edouard “SmithZZ” Dubourdeaux, Cédric “RpK” Guipouy and Nathan “NBK-” Schmitt from Team EnVyUs. With this expansion, G2 Esports became one of the top teams in the world and began to consistently place in the top four of tournaments.
In June 2016, G2 Esports expanded into the competitive scene of League of Legends by acquiring the roster of Elements Gaming who had just qualified for the League of Legends European Championship (EU LCS). The acquisition made G2 Esports one of only four teams to own spots in both the EU LCS and North American LCS (NA LCS).
Since their entry into the League of Legends competitive scene, G2 Esports has been one of the top teams in Europe. They have qualified for and attended all three World Championships since 2016 placing 5th-8th at each one. In 2018, G2 Esports won both the Spring and Summer Splits of the EU LCS becoming the first team to ever do so.

G2 has seen amazing success in all of its competitive games, most notably in League of Legends where they are currently the reigning Mid-Season Invitational champions. In addition to this, G2 has won multiple League of Legends European Championships and have been crowned World Champions at the 2017 Smite World Championship.
In Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, G2 has had success with multiple championship wins including the recent $1 million ELEAGUE Major Boston 2018 tournament. The team has also won the ESL Pro League Season 4, DreamHack Open Tours 2017, and many other competitions.
G2’s Rainbow Six Siege team is also highly decorated, having won both the Pro League Year 2 Season 3 Finals and the Six Major Paris 2018 tournament.
Rounding out G2’s competitive games is Rocket League where the team has seen multiple tournament wins including the Rocket League Championship Series Season 3 and 4.
