After 52 years in St. Louis, the franchise was purchased in November 1953 by a syndicate of Baltimore business and civic interests led by attorney/civic activist Clarence Miles and triggered a move to Baltimore for the 1954 season. The team’s current home ballpark is Oriole Park at Camden Yards, located south of downtown Baltimore.
