What Is the Playoff Picture for the NFL?

The NFL playoff picture is starting to come into focus and there are a few teams that look like they could make a run at the Super Bowl. Here’s a look at what the playoff picture looks like right now.

AFC

There are a lot of teams in the running for the AFC playoff picture, but only a few will actually make it to the playoffs. The New England Patriots are currently in the lead for the number one seed, followed by the Pittsburgh Steelers, Jacksonville Jaguars, and Kansas City Chiefs.

New England Patriots

The New England Patriots have clinched the AFC East title for the 10th consecutive season. They are also in the running for a first-round bye and home-field advantage throughout the playoffs.

Pittsburgh Steelers

The Steelers have clinched a playoff berth and will be the AFC North champions. They are currently in the hunt for a first-round bye and home-field advantage throughout the AFC playoffs.

Jacksonville Jaguars

As we enter week 15 of the NFL season, the playoff picture is starting to come into focus. In the AFC, the Jacksonville Jaguars have clinched a spot, and the New England Patriots have all but wrapped up the top seed. The Pittsburgh Steelers and Tennessee Titans are also in good shape to make the playoffs, while the Baltimore Ravens and Los Angeles Chargers are still alive but need help. Here’s a look at how things stand in the AFC heading into week 15.

The Jaguars have surprised everyone by clinching a spot in the playoffs. Led by their defense, they have been one of the best teams in the NFL all season long. They will likely be the number three seed in the AFC, meaning they will have to play on Wild Card weekend.

The Patriots have all but wrapped up the top seed in the AFC. They need just one win or one loss by either the Steelers or Titans to clinch home-field advantage throughout the AFC playoffs. Even if they don’t get that help, they are still in good shape to get one of the top two seeds.

The Steelers are in control of their own destiny. If they win out, they will be the number two seed in the AFC. They will likely need to win at least one of their remaining two games to ensure that they make it into the playoffs though.

The Titans are also in control of their own destiny. If they win out, they will be the number four seed in the AFC and will host a Wild Card game. They will likely need to win at least one of their remaining two games to ensure that they make it into

Kansas City Chiefs

The Kansas City Chiefs have clinched the AFC West and a first-round bye in the playoffs. They will host the AFC Championship game if they win their divisional round matchup and the New England Patriots lose.

NFC

The NFC playoff picture is wide open with only a few weeks left in the season. The Dallas Cowboys and the Seattle Seahawks are the only teams that have clinched a spot so far. The Green Bay Packers, the Carolina Panthers, and the Arizona Cardinals are all still in the running for a spot. The last spot will most likely come down to the last week of the season.

Philadelphia Eagles

The Philadelphia Eagles are a professional American football team based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The Eagles compete in the National Football League (NFL) as a member club of the league’s National Football Conference (NFC) East division. They are Super Bowl LII champions, having defeated the New England Patriots in Super Bowl 52.

The franchise was established in 1933 as a replacement for the bankrupt Franklin Athletic Club. When a group led by Bert Bell secured the rights to an NFL franchise in Philadelphia, Bell, Chuck Bednarik, Bob Brown, Connie Mack Jr., and Greasy Neale became the team’s first players.

Minnesota Vikings

The race for the final two playoff spots in the NFC is going to come down to the wire. The Minnesota Vikings currently hold the sixth and final playoff spot, but they are just one game ahead of the Los Angeles Rams. The Rams have a chance to catch the Vikings if they can win their final two games and if the Vikings lose one of their last two games.

Los Angeles Rams

The Los Angeles Rams are a professional American football team that competes in the National Football League (NFL). The Rams franchise was founded in 1936 as the Cleveland Rams in the short-lived second American Football League (AFL) before joining the NFL the next year. In 1946, the franchise moved to Los Angeles. The Rams franchise remained in the metro area until 1994, when they moved to St. Louis. The franchise returned to Los Angeles in 2016.

The Rams organization has won three NFL championships, and is the only one to win championships representing three different cities (Cleveland, Los Angeles, and St. Louis). The Rams are the most recent franchise to win a NFL championship following the 2018 season, winning Super Bowl LIII and representing both Los Angeles ( hosting for the first time ever ) and St. Louis ( who have not represented in a Super Bowl since 2001 ), breaking a drought of 25 years without an NFL title following their relocation from Anaheim back to LA in 2016. The Rams have made 19 total appearances in the playoffs, tied with Dallas and Pittsburgh for second-most among NFC teams behind only Green Bay’s 20 appearances .

New Orleans Saints

As the New Orleans Saints get set to take on the Los Angeles Rams in the NFC Championship game, let’s take a look at what the current NFL playoff picture looks like.

The Saints, who are the top seed in the NFC, will host the Rams, who are the second seed, with a trip to Super Bowl LIII on the line. The Rams defeated the Dallas Cowboys in the divisional round to advance to this game.

If the Saints win, they will advance to the Super Bowl to take on either the Kansas City Chiefs or New England Patriots. If the Rams win, they will travel to Atlanta to face either the Chiefs or Patriots.

The AFC Championship game will feature two teams that have not won a Super Bowl in a long time. The Chiefs last won a Super Bowl in 1970, while the Patriots last won one in 2001.
