The size of a NHL hockey net is six feet by four feet and the posts are two feet high. The size of a net can be adjusted by the NHL to fit the rink size.
NHL Standard
The size of a NHL hockey net is 6 feet wide by 4 feet tall and the posts are 2.5 feet apart. The crossbar extends 4 feet out from either post. The top of the net is 3.5 feet tall from the ice.
6 feet wide
The NHL standard for the width of a hockey net is six feet (1.83 m). The opening at the top of the net is four feet (1.22 m) wide, and the net hangs down two feet (0.61 m) from the crossbar.

A NHL hockey net is four feet tall, six feet wide, and one foot deep.
International Standard
The size of a NHL hockey net is 6 feet wide by 4 feet tall and the crossbar is located 3.5 feet from the ground. This is the standard size for all professional hockey leagues in North America. The net is made of metal and is attached to the backboard and the posts by metal hooks.
5.91 feet wide
All NHL rinks must be a minimum of 200 feet long and 85 feet wide. They can be a maximum of 215 feet long and 100 feet wide. The most common size for an NHL rink is 200 feet long and 85 feet wide.
The front of the goal line must be 8 feet from the end boards and 12 feet from the side boards. The back of the goal line must be 2 feet from the end boards and 4 feet from the side boards.
The dimensions of an NHL hockey net are 6 feet wide by 4 feet tall. The top of the net is 42 inches above the ice and the bottom of the net is 18 inches above the ice.
4.33 feet tall
NHL hockey nets must be a minimum of 4.33 feet tall and 6 feet wide. They can be no more than 5.5 feet tall and maximum 8 feet wide. The netting must extend at least 40 inches behind the goal line and must be attached to the goal posts and crossbar with nylon cord or steel wire not more than 0.75 inches in diameter.
