The Browns’ official colors are brown, orange, and white. They are unique among the 32 member franchises of the NFL in that they do not have a logo on their helmets and are the only team named after a specific person, original coach Paul Brown.
The franchise was founded in 1945 by businessman Arthur B. McBride and coach Paul Brown as a charter member of the All-America Football Conference (AAFC). The Browns dominated the AAFC, compiling a 47–4–3 record in its four seasons under Brown. When the AAFC folded after the 1949 season, the Browns joined the NFL along with three other AAFC teams; they were placed in the AFC’s West Division. Cleveland won a championship in their inaugural NFL season, as well as in 1950, 1954, 1955, and 1964. Bradley went 2-14 in his first season, but improved to 3-13 in his second year before leading the Jaguars to a disappointing 5-11 record in 2015. In 2016, the Jaguars made wholesale changes to their coaching staff, firing Bradley and hiring Doug Marrone as their new head coach.

In the past three years, they have gone 3-13, 5-11, and 4-12. They have fired their head coach twice in the past three years and their general manager once. Their owner, Shad Khan, has said that he is “embarrassed” by the team’s performance.
