WWE Universal Championship
The WWE Universal Championship is a professional wrestling championship created and promoted by the American professional wrestling promotion WWE on the Raw brand. It is one of two world titles for WWE’s main roster, as well as one of WWE’s two flagship championships. The current champion is Brock Lesnar, who is in his second reign.
The title was established as a world championship through WWE’s 2016 draft, which resulted in SmackDown creating the WWE World Championship for its brand while Raw kept the WWE Universal Championship. As a result of the 2016 draft, the title became exclusive to Raw and its holder was no longer defending it on SmackDown. The title is one of three world championships in WWE, alongside the WWE World Championship on SmackDown and the NXT Championship on NXT.
The concept of a universal championship was first introduced by then-WWE head writer Vince Russo in late 1999, when he proposed that WWE have one world champion which would be defended across all three of its then-existing brands: Raw Is War, SmackDown!, and Heat. However, Russo’s idea was quickly rejected by then-WWF owner Vince McMahon.
WWE Championship
The WWE Championship is the most prestigious professional wrestling championship in WWE. It is also WWE’s top male singles championship. The current champion is Drew McIntyre, who is in his second reign. The title was introduced in 1963 by WWE’s predecessor promotion, the World Wide Wrestling Federation (WWWF). It is one of the oldest continuously active professional wrestling championships in the world.
The title has been defended in matches around the world, including Africa, Asia, Australia, Canada, Europe, Mexico and the United States. The title has been held by a number of wrestlers from different countries and backgrounds. The first African-American champion was The Rock, who held it from 1998 to 2002. The first Asian-American champion was Rey Mysterio Jr., who held it from 2002 to 2007. The first woman to hold the title was Charlotte Flair, who won it at WrestleMania 32 in 2016.
The WWE Championship is widely considered to be one of the most prestigious titles in professional wrestling.
WWE Intercontinental Championship
The WWE Intercontinental Championship is a professional wrestling championship created and promoted by the American professional wrestling promotion WWE on the SmackDown brand. It is one of WWE’s secondary titles, and is contested amongst mid-card wrestlers. The current champion is Apollo Crews, who is in his first reign.
The title was created in 1979, and has undergone several name changes throughout its history. It became the “International Championship” when the promotion expanded internationally in late 1979. When the promotion was split into separate brands in 2002, it was established on SmackDown as the exclusive title for that brand. The title was renamed to its current name in May 2003.
In August 2017, SmackDown General Manager Daniel Bryan stripped then-champion The Miz of the title due to Miz’s injuries. A tournament was held at WWE No Mercy later that month to determine a new champion, which was won by Zack Ryder.
WWE United States Championship
The WWE United States Championship is a professional wrestling championship promoted by the American professional wrestling promotion WWE on the Raw brand. It is one of two secondary championships for WWE’s main roster, along with the WWE Intercontinental Championship on the SmackDown brand. The current champion is Drew McIntyre, who is in his second reign.
The United States Championship began as the National Wrestling Alliance’s (NWA) top tag team championship in 1959, but was eventually split off into its own singles title during a tournament in 1975. The title has been known by several names over the years, including the NWA United States Heavyweight Championship and WCW United States Heavyweight Championship. The title was unified with WWE’s Intercontinental Championship in 2001, but was reactivated as its own separate championship in 2003. The championship has been defended at all five WrestleManias held during WWE’s “Attitude Era” (WrestleManias XV and XVI).
Following WWE’s brand extension in 2002 and the promotion’s expansion into Mexico and Australia, then-WWE Undisputed Champion Brock Lesnar became exclusive to SmackDown! while then-WWE Intercontinental Champion Eddie Guerrero became exclusive to Raw. As a result, then-World Champion Kurt Angle chose to create a secondary championship for Raw so that both Lesnar and Guerrero could be defended on their respective brands; this led to Angle crowning Chris Benoit as the inaugural champion on June 30, 2002. After Benoit won the Royal Rumble match in 2003 and vacated both titles, then-SmackDown! General Manager Paul Heyman reactivated the United States Championship as a separate title from the Intercontinental Championship on March 18, 2003; this version of the title was defended at that year’s WrestleMania XIX before eventually becoming inactive once again later that year. As part of WWE’s reintroduction of brand-exclusive pay-per-views following its 2016 draft, then-WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins was drafted to Raw while retaining possession of that title; this led to him vacating both world titles due to their now being exclusive to different brands (the reintroduced ECW World Heavyweight Championship also became exclusive to SmackDown). To accommodate Rollins’ double champion status while still adhering to its no more than one singles champion per brand rule (a reiteration of a similar rule used during the original brand extension), then-Raw Commissioner Stephanie McMahon announced that there would be two top titles once again: she unveiled a new red version of the Universal Championship for Raw while Rollins vacated and reactivated both world titles as separate championships for their respective brands (the latter being renamed back to its original name of “World Heavyweight Championship”).
WWE Raw Women’s Championship
The WWE Raw Women’s Championship is a professional wrestling championship created and promoted by the American professional wrestling promotion WWE. It is one of the two women’s championships in WWE, alongside the WWE SmackDown Women’s Championship. The current champion is Charlotte Flair, who is in her seventh reign.
The championship was established as the WWE Women’s Championship on October 20, 2008, at the Judgment Day pay-per-view event. Upon its inception, it was one of WWE’s original tertiary titles, which resulted in it being sparsely defended over its first few years. The title was unified with its SmackDown counterpart on August 23, 2016 at a SmackDown Live event, making it accessible to wrestlers on both brands. tracing back to its original titleholder The Fabulous Moolah in 1963. When Moolah lost the title to Wendi Richter in 1984 at The Brawl to End It All, she regained it just two weeks later due to controversial circumstances. In 1988, following WrestleMania IV, she retired for good; however, she remained with WWF for several more years as an ambassador and referee.
BothWomen’s Championships were then deactivated following WrestleMania XXVIII due to them not being featured on television often enough; this made Eve Torres the final champion of both titles as she had won a Battle Royal earlier that evening to become champion of each brand respectively. The Divas Championship then became WWF’s only female singles title until 2016 when both were reintroduced as separate entities once again; however the newly reintroduced Women’s Championship had a different name and was intended for Raw while SmackDown kept its former Divas Championship title and renamed it accordingly
WWE SmackDown Women’s Championship
The WWE SmackDown Women’s Championship is a professional wrestling championship created and promoted by the American professional wrestling promotion WWE on the SmackDown brand. It is one of the two women’s titles in WWE, along with the Raw Women’s Championship on the Raw brand. The current champion is Sasha Banks, who is in her first reign.
The title was established as the WWE Women’s Championship on October 25, 1999, with Lita becoming the inaugural champion. As a result of the 2016 draft, it became exclusive to SmackDown and was renamed to its current name. It then reverted to its original name as a result of the 2019 draft but was then renamed again to its current name shortly afterwards.
In August 2020 at SummerSlam, Banks defeated Asuka to win the title for a record fourth time, tying her with Charlotte Flair for most reigns.

NXT UK
NXT UK is a professional wrestling television programme that is produced by WWE. It premiered on 17 October 2019 on the WWE Network. It is the second international expansion of NXT after NXT Canada, which was quietly discontinued in 2019. Like its sister brand NXT in the United States, NXT UK is billed as a distinct brand from WWE’s main roster programmes Raw and SmackDown, with a separate developmental system for wrestlers.
The first batch of tapings took place in late June 2018 at theCorp Arena in Winter Park, Florida, which served as the de facto home of then-WWE’s developmental territory Florida Championship Wrestling (FCW). The following month, it was announced that NXT would expand to the United Kingdom with a series of shows taking place throughout August. Some of these shows were purposely left off WWE’s live events website so as not to give away their plans for a new UK-based show.
Triple H (Paul Levesque), who is the Executive Vice President of Talent, Live Events and Creative for WWE, hinted on social media that there was more to come from NXT UK after these initial shows. This was later confirmed when it was announced that another set of tapings would take place in November 2018 at Cambridge Corn Exchange in Cambridge, England.
At these tapings, it was announced that the brand would have its own weekly television programme which would air on the WWE Network every Wednesday at 8 pm GMT, starting 17 October 2019.
