What NBA Teams Never Won a Championship?

We take a look at the NBA teams who have never won a championship, and explore the reasons why they haven’t been able to make it to the top.

What NBA Teams Never Won a Championship?

The teams

8. Indiana Pacers

The Indiana Pacers have never won an NBA Championship in their 51-year history. They’ve made the NBA Finals three times (2000, 2013, and 2014), but lost each time. Their most recent appearance was in the Eastern Conference Finals, where they lost to the Miami Heat in six games. The Pacers have had success in the regular season, winning five division titles and seven conference titles. But when it comes to the NBA Finals, they’ve come up short every time.

9. Utah Jazz

The Utah Jazz have never won an NBA Championship in their 45-year history. They’ve made the NBA Finals twice (1997 and 1998), but lost to the Chicago Bulls both times. The Jazz have been one of the most successful teams in the regular season, winning 15 division titles and six conference titles. But they’ve never been able to win that elusive NBA Championship trophy.

Why they never won

There are a few reasons why these teams never won an NBA Championship. One reason is that they were not able to build a team that was good enough to make it to the Finals. Another reason is that they were not able to make it to the playoffs consistently. Lastly, some of these teams had good players, but they were not able to find the right combination to win a championship.

The impact

Would an NBA team’s lack of a championship ring have an impact on its fan base, history or reputation?

In the NBA, winning a championship is the ultimate goal. It’s what every team strives for and what every player wants to achieve in their career. But not every team is able to win one. In fact, there are a number of teams who have never won an NBA championship.

This list includes some of the most iconic teams in the league, as well as some newer franchises who haven’t had much success. These are the teams who have never won an NBA championship.

How it could have been different

The NBA Finals are set, and for the first time in a while, there will be a new champion crowned. The Toronto Raptors and Golden State Warriors have met before in the Finals, but the Warriors have always come out on top. This time, things could be different.

The Raptors are a good team, but they’re not an all-time great team. They don’t have any player that you could reasonably call a future Hall of Famer. Their two best players, Kawhi Leonard and Kyle Lowry, are both approaching 30 years old and have had injury problems in the past. They’re good players, but they’re not immortal.

The Warriors, on the other hand, are an all-time great team. They have four future Hall of Famers in their starting lineup: Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, Draymond Green, and Kevin Durant. They also have one of the best coaches of all time in Steve Kerr. Even without Durant, who is injured and won’t be playing in the Finals, they’re still the better team.

So why is it that the Raptors might actually win this year? There are a few reasons. First of all, the Warriors are coming off a grueling seven-game series against the Houston Rockets. They had to dig deep to come back from 3-2 down to win that series, and it took a lot out of them mentally and physically. The Raptors didn’t have to go through that kind of battle; they swept their way through the Eastern Conference playoffs without much trouble.

Second of all, Durant is injured and he’s not going to be playing in the Finals. He might be the best player in the world when he’s healthy, but he’s not going to be healthy for this series. The Raptors will have Leonard matched up against Curry, which is a matchup they can win; curry is good but he’s not as good as Leonard. And without Durant to take some of the offensive load off of Curry and Thompson, those two are going to have to work even harder on offense than they already do.

Lastly, it just feels like it might be Toronto’s turn this year. They haven’t won a championship in any sport since 1993, when the Blue Jays won baseball’s World Series. The city has been hungry for a winner for a long time now; maybe this is finally their year.

So there you have it: three reasons why the Raptors might actually win this year’s NBA Finals against the Golden State Warriors. It would be an upset if they did win—but then again stranger things have happened in sports before
